First time I hear about this "presumed murdered". What I gathered from 52 is that Earth-2's Power Girl and Superman were missing because Power Girl was on New Earth and Superman was *buried* in New Earth.

Possible, but if your theory is true (no duplicates of Earth-2 folk from "old" Earth-2 that were somehow still around) then could that mean that Superman-Prime's Earth is also recreated as one of the 52, and is also missing its hero? Looks like he then gets his dearest wish, assuming he can leave behind the whole mass-murdering psychopath Sinestro Corps thing he has going.

That would be the Superman: Secret Identity Earth. And Prime got replaced there. That Superman Prime grew up, married and had two girls.

Actually the presense of a displaced alternate reality individual does not neccesitate the existance of that alternate reality among the 52. All of the characters mentioned were from a previous version of the multiverse that need not have been recreated. It seems unlikely that they will recreate a "Prime" universe.

I favour that interpretation myself, but also believe that the recreated Earths have their 'full cast' of recreated heroes. Thus the New Earth-2 had its own Power Girl and Superman that have now gone missing and possibly murdered by Earth-2 Luthor, while "our" Power Girl is not from the New Earth-2 (though she may end up going there to replace the missing Power Girl).
