He's a primal striker as a lot of folks have guessed. The rage power mechanic is very interesting, and the Rage Strike power is pretty sweet. I'm surprised at just how quickly the class gets supernatural--by level 5 you're throwing around elemental damage.
On an initial read-through, one thing that jumps out as problematic is the selection of powers that key off of the number of bloodied enemies adjacent or within X squares of you. Seems like that gives the barbarian incentive to rough a lot of bad guys up rather than finish them off, and also seems like counting them all up could get tedious.
