If Mearls really thinks of Barbarian as "Paladin of the Wild" he failed miserably in conveying that in the rules.

Personally, when it comes to class design, I have never been a Mearls' fan. I wish they would keep him away from class design and I write that as someone whom was a fan of Mearls' D20 work in his pre-WOTC days (prior to seeing him design classes).
