The Best of OGL?

I don't know if a such a thing is possible but I was thinking about some of the changes that WotC might implement in the revised 3rd edition.

That got me thinking about some of the high quality OGL content that has been printed. Things like the Holy Warrior class from "The Book of the Righteous". This is my favorite alternate 'base' class that I've seen for third edition. I just love the fact that each church would have their own unique warrior.

So, after going down these paths I was wondering if WotC could bring in some of the best OGL ideas into the revised third edtion.
Or if that wasn't possible if someone could publish a "Best of OGL".

Could some print a book like this? Could WotC bring in OGL content into the revised third edition? I'm not suggesting anything like this is happening, I was just curious if it was possible.

OGC not OGL

It is possible but what you want is the best of the OGC--open gaming content not the best of the actual license :p .

Some are already doing that---
Green Ronin has spell books that have other companies spells
Paradigm has spell decks with same theme
Mongoose has class books and feat books with other companies stuff.

We have been lucky enough to use stuff from other sources as well, off the top of my head for Foul Locales: Beyond the Gates we used info from Bastion Press and Monte was nice enough to let us use PI info from Malhavoc so non-OGC stuff, we labeled it correctly .

So some books are out there and more are coming (companies have asked me for info) but until they release the titles I can not tell you what they wanted.

Hope that helps, as a side not WoTC can do the same, they could take info from d20 companies and add it to their books based on the terms of the OGL just labeled as OGC in the D&D books.
