D&D General The blood war can finally end!

The Celestial Hosts explicitly don’t try and help either side cause they hate them both with a few exceptions who generally go after both sides. It’s better to let evil eat itself.

The Devils are outnumbered by the Demons, but they have better tactics and organization while the Demons are wild hordes that also frequently infight and turn on each other.

Like Hell doesn’t face the Abyss’s full power cause most of the demons are fighting back in the Abyss.

What unintended Consequences?

For me the blood war never made sense, why wouldn't demon lords try to conquer the Abyss first rather than waste resources attacking the nine hells. That is why I mostly rejected the blood war until 4e lore gave me a reasonable idea to work with (even though the war was on pause in that edition).

You're expecting logic from exemplars of chaos and evil? Demon lords may make plans to do so, but they'll break those plans on a whim if something more fun comes up.

The Demon Lords are more focused on the
Abyss for the most part. It’s the tons of other demons that focus on the Blood War and attacking the Nine Hells.

Creatures of fundamental chaos and evil would be ruled by their whims and passions, and as exemplars of an opposed philosophy there's little that arouses a demon's passionate hatred more than a devil.

That always felt forced to me. There is no clear reason to to focus on the nine hells verses anywhere else.

Again, that never made any sense to me - why focus on the nine hells? Chaos, one would think, doesn't really discriminate. I mena why? What is driving demons to attack devil if not demon lords? How do beings of chaos even form a force to attack if not motivated by a demon lord (or similarly powerful fiend)
