Big Dissappointment: Wheel of Time d20

I'd use 'em if I could: Savage Species, Manual of the Planes, CoC d20.

Though to be technical, all of my books are collecting dust right now; it hasn't been practical to try to get together with a gaming group lately.

So maybe this thread should really be split into two threads:

1) what books do you have that gather dust due to lack of interest (i.e. no players) but still has a soft spot in your heart?[/b]
Deities and Demigods - I don't think that this is a bad book by any means, but I don't see myself using it at all
Ravenloft Campaign Setting - I love the world and the fluff in this book, but doesn't fit my DMing style nor my players so I don't think I'll get use out of this
Manual of the Planes - I've used this a couple of times, but mostly, I'll sometimes sit down and just read it.

2) what books do you have that gather dust just because it was so frikkin' god-awful?

Epic Level Handbook - Ugh. Just... ugh. Well, some of the monsters are kinda cool...
Path of the Sword - Not awful, but surprisingly 'Bleh' inspiring.

My whole Exalted line. They are great reads, but by and large (and I know it's because I'm an old fogie) I find the game largely unplayable. The characters are just too awe-inspiringly powerful to be properly challenged in a way my GM-ing background allows me to comprehend.

Characters who can only be challenged by others like themselves (whom the official setting number at about 50 worldwide) and can destroy armies. blot out the sun, topple kingdoms all at basically a whim is not somehting that it very playable in my mind.

But I'm a low-power GM at the best of times (constantly bitching about how powerful spellcasters are in D&D:))

Try getting the Dragon-Blooded supplement. It's got all the info you need for lower powered, but still cinematic, heroes. To reuse a metaphor, kind of like Spiderman to the Superman level of the Solars. Plus, it's a wonderful book in it's own right.

Let's see here...

All of the D&D Splatbooks. I use some of the weapons and a few fo the spells, but none of my players have delved into the PrC's and I haven't used them with NPC's either.

Bestiary of Loerem: Horrible monster book.

Creature Collection 3: Yeah, I know, it just came out, but as I was looking through it, nothing made me go "Cool! I want to use that in my next session!" I doubt it will ever be used much.

Tome of Horrors: Everyone talks about how great of a book this is. I don't see it. It was a boring read filled with many monsters that weren't that great to begin with. I think I've used it twice.

Magic of Faerun: I love the book, but I just don't seem to use it all that much.

I have a lot of books that don't see all that much use, but I use bits and peices on a regular enough basis that I didn't include them in the list.

Most of the splatbooks are unused for me, so that was a bit of a waste.

I may someday run  the following:
*Numerous adventure path adventures
*RttToE
*The Banewarrens
*The City of the Spider Queen

D20 Modern/Dark*Matter--I love the idea, and I'm fully intersted in running a session, but...you know I didn't want to run a game without having played it at least a little, and then skimmed through the rules. Now I've played, so all's that left is to read a little and run the game. Dark*Matter was one of the biggest reasons that I picked up the Alternity rulebooks (those are a BIG dust collector).

I'm noticing some trends over all in these posts - certain items appear a lot.
Yes, and even more odd is that many of these items have in their titles the letters "w," "o," "t," and "c".

Hmmmmmmm.

Oh well, probably coincidence..!

Well, if you're still trying to give those away, I'd be happy to take them off your hands.... :)

Star Wars and Wheel of Time (in the process of trying top give them away), and there has been more then a few other books I have but don't use. However, as I tend to give things away I can't recall them. :D

Books I was excited about and turned to be utterly useless;
Return to Temple of EE; totally different direction, fairly little use of the actual temple.

Ravenloft 3e: I bought several books, I loved the 2e setting. Each book seems to be getting more blah. I glanced through some new stuff, and it's even worse.

Ghostwalk: I thought I'd like the premise, but it just didn't work for me.

There have been several other products that were less than inspiring. Most of the Malhavoc stuff I've gotten has just left me uninspired. (I do like Cordell's stuff a lot though.)

Games I got that are useless to me:
Demon, Hunter, any of the other White Wolf games I bought and no one will play or even try to understand! ::grumble::

D20 Modern/UA: Only one player was interested in playing, and then when I explained Urban Arcana, she called the setting "silly". Ah well...

Or it could be because they sell way more books than everyone else.

Earlier I said Canting Crew, because i do not care for it.
Relics and Rituals is a good book, but has seen zero use in my games.
Epic Level Handbook - dumb buy on my part, we don't play frequently enough to get that high level, and I don't think we'd like it if we did.
And finally scarred lands, looked real good early on, and now, I just don't like the feel.

I was really hyped about Gamma World coming back, but since that bloodbath of a thread on rpg.net, I decided not to buy it. After reading some reviews, I'm really glad I didn't. All of this really kills me. I really like Gamma World, and would love to have a d20 version that rocks, and would prefer it to not be d20 Modern based.
