Wasn't there talk of talent trees like d20Modern and SWSaga too? Whatever happened to that?

I think that was mostly a guess made by fans after hearing that 4E would draw from Star Wars Saga Edition. I don't recall ever actually hearing anyone from WotC mention talents.

I'm sorry but the racial feats just don't seem to cut it. The races don't really evolve, they just become slightly better at what they do. If you choose Eladrin because you liked the idea of teleporting once per round then +2 defences until the end of your next turn gives you an extra bonus. It's nice, but it's not a factor, it's a small bonus.

How much of a difference is there between a Half Elf fighter and a Dwarven one (assuming both specialise in Warhammers?)

Also I believe they removed the Warlocks Fourth Pact, Vestige together with Soul Ruin. Not sure

I have the feeling that the books are totally packed. For example, the list of epic destinies seems to be shorter than expected. They probably cut a lot of stuff.

And if they cut races... well, understandable. Getting working classes first is, from my point of view, better.
