The City of Requiem: Recruitment for my 3.0->3.5 Game

I'd be interested in joining this game if more players are still needed. I can usually post multiple times per day. I'm not familiar with Scarred lands but this sounds very interesting.

Thrarn Iranorn - Alright, but as a brief synopsis of Druids in the Scarred lands, they function as the clerics to Titans. Clerics are the Clerics to divine beings. Titans (except one) are generally considered evil by those races that serve divine beings, and so are their druids. The exceptions are the Druid's of Denev the earth mother, who are accepted by all but the most extremist people.

NarlethDrider - Alright, just keep me informed.

Rathan - Yeah, I just havn't had the interest in YB for a while yet. I'll try it out again sometime, but right now I'm not in the mood.

Zerth - Alright, well, keep me informed.

How far in the future before you want to get this gonig. I am not in any rush or on a timeframe just wondering if you want us to start getting our characters together.
For Druids, are all of their abilites the same or any changes to spells, special abilites, etc.

Have you decided how you mant us to do the characters yet. Stats (roll or point buy), HP, Gold, any restrictions, etc...

I am assuming that you dont want PC's that are considered evil so I would be a Druid of Denev.

I am the same as Zerth, I can post several times a day during the week, a little less on weekends but that seems to be the norm. But am not familiar with Scarred lands either.
A brief background or explaination of the lands at the beginning of the game should be enough to get me going though.

NarlethDrider - I'm only allowing one character of a monster-race, and a half-ogre is a monster race to me. If your going to play one, then I'll need to know which rendition of a half-ogre your using (or your own). If you don't have one in mind, then I'll provide one that I'm already OK with.

Thrarn Iranorn - How far in the future? Well, I'd say I want to be able to start looking at PC stat blocks and stories within the next 10 days, and I'd like to have them finalized at the end of that period. I'll begin the thread and the game immediately after that, but there will be a break period where I cannot post that can be expected around August 25th. I may not have internet access for a few days after I get on Campus.

For Druids, their abilities are similar enough to the PHB that you can use just that. However, certain druidic spells and such are specifically from the Scarred Lands.

Right, I'm alright with evil PCs, but only if they are obviously within the confines of a Heroic Party. Your character needs to be built for a heroic party, and that makes it difficult to have evil PCs. It's not beyond feasability, however, so I could see a single evil character being in the party. I'd need to be able to trust that player. Denev is probably the right choice for a Druid in this setting.

I'll provide some of the information about the setting as I progress towards starting this game.

I am thinking about making a half-orc monk. Anything special I should know about monks in Scarred land?

If this is ok, I can probably post the numbers tomorrow and background some time later.

You mentioned this would be a pre-integrated party. Should players come up with some ways how to know each other or is that up to the DM?

Sounds good. I will get a little together for my character but obviously cannot do a whole lot until we know some more specifics about stats and such. But plan on me playing a Druid of Denev, if that is okay… If there are any Scarred Land Druidic spells that you think might be of significant importance to this campaign would you let me know the details.
Thanks in advance.

Zerth - Nothing really specificly different about monks. There are no monastaries on the island you occupy (and most if not all the PCs will have never been on the mainland), so your background should reflect that. Specifically there are orders and groups of monks, but none of that applies to the location of the game, however they are part of the big picture of the setting as a whole.

The Pre-integration refers to this: You should make a character as if he/she was already a member of the adventuring group, and a certain amount of time will be devoted to establishing your relationships with the other characters. You will need to decide why your character works with this particular group, and what your role in the group is. Also, writting your history to include about 1 years time with this party may be fitting.

The players will decide how they came together, but before I intend to start that discussion, I'm going to explain the circumstances and prior events that have happened around the group up to the point in which we are starting.

Thrarn Iranorn - If you want to look into some SS specific spells, try Relics and Rituals II, and if you can find a revised edition of Relics and Rituals I, take a look at that. If the content in the druids spells list (especially those spells that have Denev's name) interest you, you might want to get a copy. Other players or Enworld Board members might be willing to reproduce the spells for you, but I don't have the free time to do that yet.
