Yeah, Spelljammer uses turn of the previous century science fiction premises combined with D&Disms. People forget or deny that sci-fi and fantasy used to be the same genre until the late 70s/early 80s.Phlogiston was part of a defunct scientific theory of the 18th/19th centuries, IIRC?
Well so was the concept of light traveling through the ether & the etheral realm but I've got to agree spelljammer had nothing scientific. spelljammer was published after both sputnik along with the apollo missions that brought live human beings to & from the moon. Spelljammer made buck rogers & flash gordon look like they were some kind of extreme hard scifi written exclusively for physicistsPhlogiston was part of a defunct scientific theory of the 18th/19th centuries, IIRC?
Now there's an accurate tagline.Yes you can (just about).
I'd have a different take, because if WotC did the same thing TSR did after releasing 5e, the company would have went bankrupt by now with the D&D IP being auctioned off to the four winds and we wouldn't get anything any longer.Eh, still got a lot of great product. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Old, defunct, disproven science, is still SCIENCE! - ask any Son of Ether. 8)Well so was the concept of light traveling through the ether & the etheral realm but I've got to agree spelljammer had nothing scientific. spelljammer was published after both sputnik along with the apollo missions that brought live human beings to & from the moon. Old Spelljammer was derived from old scientific theory. I don't know what they were trying to do with the new stuff.Phlogiston was part of a defunct scientific theory of the 18th/19th centuries, IIRC?
At the end of the day, it all worked out. And if WotC had done what you say with 5e, the stuff they did put out before collapse would have been both more plentiful and probably more to my liking.I'd have a different take, because if WotC did the same thing TSR did after releasing 5e, the company would have went bankrupt by now with the D&D IP being auctioned off to the four winds and we wouldn't get anything any longer.
2e was great for the gamer until the deluge of product all came to roost and suddenly we were looking at the death of the biggest RPG out there.
Those are magic swordsmen. There are about six mystic swordsmen including the Eldritch Knight, the Bladesinger, the Hexblade, the Pact of the Blade, some of the Paladins, and the Bards of Swords and Valour.
That is the tamest pro wrestler ever. Where's the "Cut a promo" and Finishing move. They just put out a fizzle of a pro wrestler in the latest Unearthed Arcana
Why? We got warforged.Plants are a problem
Was thinking something more bizarre or otherworldly.Kender are an aberrant race
- Being more serious the Plasmids qualify here
BIG FREAKING SWORDS.I'm not sure what you mean "giant swords"
And they all focus too much on the master than the pet. There are several pet-choices including Beastmaster, Wildfire Druid, Pact of the Chain, and more
X-Men but MedievalWhat do you mean "magic mutant"
Chaos knight - Pact of the Blade or some sort of Paladin?
You are small at best.Tiny knight in mecha suit - Armourer Artificer
That's not a werewolf. I want to have 2 character sheets.Playable werewolves - Beast Barbarian or Shifter from Eberron.
Pretty sure that 3e reserve feats were the root of at-will cantrips.Pathfinder 1e does many things better. If it lifted them from 4e I don't know.
If 4e is the root of at will cantrips, well that's damning enough.![]()
