Well so was the concept of light traveling through the ether & the etheral realm but I've got to agree spelljammer had nothing scientific. spelljammer was published after both sputnik along with the apollo missions that brought live human beings to & from the moon. Spelljammer made buck rogers & flash gordon look like they were some kind of extreme hard scifi written exclusively for physicists

At the end of the day, it all worked out. And if WotC had done what you say with 5e, the stuff they did put out before collapse would have been both more plentiful and probably more to my liking.

Pathfinder 1e does many things better. If it lifted them from 4e I don't know.

If 4e is the root of at will cantrips, well that's damning enough.

Pretty sure that 3e reserve feats were the root of at-will cantrips.
