The Crux of the Matter

*Rinaldo makes his attack, but Vanitri is struck twice, staying steady after both blows but then clutching at his insides as he collapses into unconsciousness.*

(OOC: 8 + 17 + 20 = 45, which doesn't take him down, but the 2 Con drain does!

Tenebrynn's turn, but presumably (s)he'll do nothing again, so I'll roll the bad guy and then Ashnar/Hogarth/Rinaldo can go)

*Rinaldo's enemy misses twice, very nearly hitting, and it might have if it had been flanking, but Rinaldo blocks that attack with his blade.*

(OOC: Okay, everyone can go again)

Hogarth, seeing Vanitri falling down, try to heal the fallen after having made a step backward. Rinaldo continue to attarct the attention of the otehr undead, swing widely that time.

[SBLOCK]Hogarth make a 5 feet away from his enemy before healing Vanitri. Hogarh's CSW (protection from energy) heal 17 damage. If it is impossible to cast without doing a concentration check, he will instead attack again, with a 20 on attack and 6 on damage

Rinaldo's attack = 10 for 6 damage[/SBLOCK]

Remembering that she has a longbow strapped to her back, Tenebrynn will draw it and fire (peeking around the side of Ashnar).

ooc: do this before the enemy misses and again next round when it is her turn again.

*Hogarth is unable to clear room for healing with only a five-foot step because of how tightly the retreat has packed the fight, so he takes a swing at the enemy and nearly downs it. Meanwhile Tenebrynn draws her bow but can do nothing more.*

(OOC: Note, Tenebrynn is Slowed--that wasn't a concern until now, but in this case, it is. Technically she could have drawn her bow last round as part of her move action of retreating to Ashnar and shot this round, but I'd say that's probably too late

Ashnar's turn)

ooc: I'm confused. post 1101 you said that you presumed Tenebrynn did nothing. I'd like for her to have drawn her bow. then fired when she had the next opportunity. post 1104 was the next opportunity and you said she can't do anything...

(OOC: Oh no, you must have gotten the initiative order confused--Tenebrynn only had one turn since 1101, not two (she goes before Ashnar/Hogarth/Vanitri), so I did indeed let her draw her bow during post 1101--that's what I was retconning in 1104 ;))

(OOC: Natural 1! Awesome  )

*Vanitri bleeds on the ground. His assailant decides to go after Hogarth, but thanks to Hogarth's heavy armour, only one of the attacks hits its mark, and Hogarth shrugs off the insidious after-effects.*

(OOC: Hogarth takes 11--now Tenebrynn can shoot)

*Tenebrynn fires his bow at one of the two remaining undead, but she misses.*

(OOC: Terrible roll, but at least it was at +7 even after the -4, so it almost did okay. In other news, Tenebrynn is our new Vaarsuvius)

*The other enemy attacks Rinaldo again and gets lucky again, though Rinaldo survives the life-draining secondary effect.*

(OOC: Rinaldo takes 11 due to yet another natural 20 for the baddies

Hogarth/Ashnar/Rinaldo again)

Of half a mind to simply throw the stubborn wand at the enemies, Ashnar instead casts a flaming sphere to go after the creatures. Of course, with his current track record, he almost expects it to dance a hot dance with the undead instead.
