The Crux of the Matter

(OK, I feel like I'm missing a few things here, among them why we're suddenly deciding to put on completely unidentified items. I'll be back after a reread.)
(OOC: The reason is clearly because Erekose is roleplaying his abysmal Wisdom score well with "Oo, pretty!" and everyone else decided that 6-year-old children are good role models ;))

(OOC: Oh wait a minute--I forgot about the fact that Tenebrynn's form is based on her belief of her form when she concentrates on the Cha check, which is why she turned into a little girl even though the potion would usually give the drinker a little girl's mind in an adult's body. This means that Tenebrynn actually turns into a pixie. Now, normal pixies are Size Small, but barely, so I imagine a small child pixie would be Tiny, though the Dex bonus and Str penalty from this don't matter in an Astral area. Though she be but little, she is fierce! Hmm, that puts her AC at 28 by my count. HP? Who needs HP!)

"Might I suggest that we don't randomly put on magic items we know nothing about? Even if Love is right, these items were held in a room that was barraged by wild surges. Just look at Tenebrynn, it seems like I could carry him...her? on my shoulder now. We should concentrate on the Crux and on Sin."

(Speaking of Love, does she seem to follow, or stay behind?)

*Love follows.*

"You may be right, though the side-effects are odd...they don't seem to major or prevalent," Love posits, then shrugs, "I'll come help you as far as the crux, but none of us aspects can enter the area around the crux without joining with someone like Elpis did with Laynie, just like we can't leave the tower. If there are any of those spooky time undead, maybe I can help. If Eve or her allies come, I'm going to run and hide though--I don't want to get turned into a Wraith, and also...except against lifeless things like undead, I feel bad attacking sentient beings--I guess because I'm the aspect of Love, rather than Anger or Hatred."

"You are right Ashnar, the Wild surge could have affected those item, and many radom thing have happen in this tower, but up ot now, they have been more to our advantage, even considering some drawback. It is like gambling, some people don't like it at all, some cannot stop. I prefer to calculate. Business is a gamble, life is a gamble. We got three fights today in this tower, we almost lost Vanitri twice, Tenebrynn once, and now Tenebrynn is on the edge of something worst than what you've lived down there, in under the jungle of Monemvassia.

Also, rings, amulet and other wounderous items have an effect that goes on as long as you go, so we can evaluate now what there effect are. I won't try to trigger any of these rods or wands and I suggest no one to try.

As I told, I calculate our chance, and they are good enough. Because if we had difficulty to go against one of Sin minion, now imagine what will happen when they will be there, and us not at our best because of that strange effect created by teh astral aspect of the top of the tower. I want all chances on my side."

Vanitri slips off the ring, "I guess you're right. But this is mine," he tucks the flute away, "And this is the Morning's Blade, slayer of all thinks that hide from the sun."

OOC: Well, doesn't he in theory have part of the accademy oath already? No biggie. And no one answered me about the necklace. And yes, it's a shield, but there's a circlet too. And if it was Elyana's shield... :uhoh:

(OOC: Yeah, you do have part of it already. What was the question about the necklace? Yup, there's a circlet too, and hey, maybe Vanitri will like the shield for shield bash or something or if it protects from fire--he can try to activate the shield's powers blindly if he swears fealty)

ooc: I couldn't remember if Vanitri's item was a necklace or not. I was not planning on trying on the new one if I was already wearing one. Though if it gets rid of the drain and makes it easier to concentrate then maybe switching is a good idea!

and yes Tenebrynn was trying on all she could cause she's acting like a 6 year old.

"Wee I'm a pixie! Oh Laynie this is for you." says the rather tiny Tenebrynn as she flits (can she fly now) over to give Laynie the circlet. Distracted again she takes Ashnar up on the offer and flies (if she can) over to sit on his shoulder.

(OOC: It doesn't get rid of the drain--it is exactly equivalent in the Wisdom and Charisma enhancing department as the old necklace but also feels protective in addition. I thought you already gave Vanitri his necklace back because the elixir was sufficient? Either way, your Wisdom and Charisma are buffered a bit now, though you don't think you're a pixie unless you're wearing the new necklace

Yes, she can fly now--she has the gossamer wings of a pixie and can fly at normal pixie speed (which is better than her drifty-floating speed if she goes Weightless, so she's better off keeping gravity at her feet and then just flying with her wings). It's like a Polymorph except that the Astral bit renders the whole replacing-physical-stats thing moot)
