The Crux of the Matter

[Knight Otu]

Ashnar, a bit annoyed that he didn't get a chance to interrogate the suspicious Vanitri, picks up where he was interrupted. "Picking it all? I guess since we cannot tell which of these things are magic, we might as well do that." Unless Vanitri really managed to somehow detect magic in here. But then he should be near-unconcious as Tenebrynn was outside. Why should it be any better in here?

 

[Erekose13]

"Oh give me a couple, I can test them." smiles Tenebrynn. While not stupid, he never has been very wise and in his current mood is feeling a little reckless if only to end the boredom.

 

[Velmont]

"What? That is ridiculous. We have three spellcaster and none have a spell that can detect magic? And that, when we are about to visit the tower of a magician. That's sounds as ridiculous." tells Rinaldo

 

[Erekose13]

"I cast it outside the tower, gave me a nasty headache that was definitely not fun." replies Tenebrynn.

 

[Bront]

"I can tell you. This one, and this one, and this one... they're all magic."

Vanitri points out all the magical ones.

 

[Velmont]

"You can also detect magic?" asks Rinaldo to Vanitri. "You couldn't tell so earlier, and that you have done it... it would prevent Tenebrynn to have another headache. When you have usefull information, even minor, you should share it. It is call teamwork, you know?"

Hogarth looks at the group and seems even more discouraged.

 

[Bront]

Vanitri sighs, "It's not like I can do it all the time, and he'd already tried."

 

[Knight Otu]

"That doesn't answer why you didn't get a headache like Tenebrynn did."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"Gilran's Razor," Laynie points out flatly, the pen stopping for a moment as she does, "The simplest answer is usually correct. In this case, it must be because there wasn't an Overwhelming aura in the 60-foot cone in front of him when he cast it. Trust me, Vanitri is even more incompetent at magic than the elf--there's no way he would be more skilled at resisting something."

 

[Erekose13]

"That definitely sounds like as good an explanation as I could come up with, but it does raise and interesting point. The inside of this tower, or at least the 60 feet in this room, are not part of the temporal disturbance. We need to find the source." says Tenebrynn with a smile on his face. What he finds amusing this time is not obvious to anyone.
