Yeah... I got droid flashbacks with warforged and Sharn reminded me of Coruscant, and then George goes and puts General Grevious and his elite droid bodyguards into Episode III. Have you seen those bodyguards? They're warforged with shock sticks!

And now I'm tempted to give the Lord of Blades four arms...

I think Baker threw enough into the pot and did it with such skill, that we can see whatever we want in the setting. Hats off.

I keep seeing Stargate parallels with the Kalashtar. The Inspired as the Goa'Uld, the Kalashtar as the Tok'Ra and the Empty Vessels as Jaffa.

Doesn't he already? I'm sure I read of him somewhere as a "four-armed juggernaut"...

although Sharn apparently has Featherfall 'traps' everywhere...reduces the drama slightly.

Not in the least. Sharn has Feather Fall talismans (useable only once, and for such short time that you have to pass a Wisdom check to activate it at the right moment), and there's a reward for spellcasters who cast Feather Fall at a falling person. None of which apply at the hollow core of a gas mining tower whose hollow core goes straight to the Cogs...
