Nars moves in, muttering "Oh lad, you shouldn't have done that." He attempts to take up a position on the side so that with minimal movement the enemy can be surrounded. Nars charges (if possible) and attempts to catch the man's leg with his sickle, thinking that perhaps this man could be taken alive before his companions arrive. Taking note of the 5 riderless horses, he will avoid moving between the man and the inn. Nars thinks to himself, Probably 4 more of the buggers inside

OOC: I'm not sure how far we are from the enemy. There may be too many people in the way to charge by the time Nars's turn comes up.
Trip attempt, Attack: +3 (+5 with charge), Str: +2. If the man resists the trip, Nars has +7 to resist the counter trip. Nars will drop his sickle if the man's counter trip succeeds.
Nars wants to be able to set up flanking with someone with 5 foot step next round without being directly between the scimitar wielder and the inn door.

Ishmael will go to the door, barring the way of any of the swordsman's allies that try to come out. If he can get there with a standard action remaining, he will use total defense again.

Updates to Round 1:
Rodimus charges, but his quick jab fails to injure the enemy. While he charges in moments before Gorefoot, the monk is passed over by the scimitar wielder as a target. You can only guess that the enemy is underestimating the monk's unarmed attacks. ooc: I struggled with this, but decided not to alter the previously posted actions of the NPC based on the new information.

Unseen Figures
Ishmael
Persephone
Nars
Rodimus
Scimitar Wielder
Gorefoot (3 damage)

Round 2
As Ishmael moves to the door, keeping his shield ready, he hears the sound of a bar being slid into place from the inside. Someone shouts "August, Morain, There and there! Ferris, to me! Make ready!"

(Still waiting for Persephone, Rodimus, and Gorefoot to post round 2 actions.)

Percy

"Oooooh. These are bad men." Percy, fearing arrows flying from windows, dashes to the outside wall of the inn, staying away from the combat for now, but will move along the wall towards the door, ready if anyone comes out.

Round 2, continued:
Initiative
Unseen Figures
Ishmael
Persephone
Nars
Rodimus
Scimitar Wielder
Gorefoot (3 damage)

(Still waiting for Persephone, Rodimus, and Gorefoot to post round 2 actions.)[/QUOTE]

Persephone gets into position, out of line of sight from the Inn's windows.

Nars, unable to charge due to obstructions, is close enough to move in and attack in a more cautious manner. The stout Dwarf slips a leg behind the scimitar wielder, who is still too busy with Gorefoot to intercept this risky maneuver. After a brief stuggle, the bandit steps clear of the trip attempt, neither party having been knocked prone.

A moment later, Rodimus steps in, but is similarly rebuffed.

The enemy lashes out at the most recent threat, the scimitar slashing the air above the monks head as Rodimus quickly dodges the blow.

Gorefoot tries to land a blow against the enemy, but hesitation over doing permanent damage stays his hand. It may be difficult to land a subduing blow with a deadly weapon.

Round 3 Begins:
With well synchronized kicks, the windows on either side of the door are smashed outward, sending the shutters flying and dropping broken glass at their bases. A nasty looking crossbow appears in each window.

Seeing the shattering glass, Nars decides that there has been enough subduing without bloodshed. He manuevers a bit to opposite Gorefoot and strikes out with his sickle and shortsword. Nars frowns in frustration as he fails to come near his opponent.

OOC: 5-foot step to flank with Gorefoot. Two-weapon fighting with shortsword and sickle (offhand). Attacks: +3/+3 (including flanking), Damage: 2d6+2, 2d6+1
Shortsword: shortsword (1d20+3=7)
Sickle: sickle (1d20+3=6)
(assume those missed)

Percy

For round 2, once she is in a protected position, Percy touches herself lightly between the eyes w/her left index finger "I am with you." she murmers*

For round 3, having already positioned herself near the window, and seeing crossbows emerge, she mutters "Night, night," as she begins her sleep spell.

*casts Mage Armor on herself

OOC: Will target the sleep spell just behind the closer window, hoping to catch at least one bandit.

Seeing that Nars is no longer making an attempt at taking the man alive, Gorefoot changes his grip on the greatsword, and brings its full lethality to bear on the man.

OOC: Normal attack, +6 to hit, 1d10+4 for damage.
