The Faerie Woods [Knight Otu Judging]

Leading on, the Thorns bring you to another clearing. Pushing through the underbrush, you see a ruined castle in the center of the clearing.

"This is his home. We shall watch from here, so that our Lord may know. Be warned that it has fed well in recent days, and draws strength from its slain victims." Aeric states.

"Hah. As if even a powerfull Redcap could be a match for the mighty Ragewalker they considered attacking!" Fjorn notes.

In farewell, Aeric tells you "May you succeed in your efforts, sons and daughter of man. Our Lord desires his prize..."

Nars loads up his crossbow with a bolt tipped with cold iron. He keeps a wary eye on the Thorns and mutters an apology if they seem offended. Regardless, he loads the bolt anyway. He checks that his cold iron dagger and his sickle are close at hand.

"Redcap big?" Rodimus asks as he pops his knuckles and does a few stretches in expectation of giving a nice whooping to said redcap.

Not entirely trusting these Thorns, but knowing that any information is better than none, Nars he asks them, "Do you have, er, any suggestion on how to, ah, fight this ... thing?"

Fjorn answers snidely, and says "Hit it, and don't let it hit you."

Aeric, on the other hand, considers the question.

"You have said the necklace allows the Redcap to teleport. If that is so, claim it early, or you may need to fight it more than once."

Gorefoot draws his cold iron kukri and eyes the castle. He glances around at his companions, and then waits for an order from Persephone or Ishmael.

Nars irritation at Fjorn causes him to forget his to be shy for once in his life, "Grown in, ah, size, or only strength? His size? *pointing at Gorefoot* His size? *pointing at Rodimus* Bigger? Is it immune to magic? Does it hate fire? Does it cast spells? For Sela's sake, tell us something!"

"Oh, ah, good, er, point on the n-necklace."

Percy

Percy's interest is perked at Aeric's comment: 'Our Lord desires his prize'.

"Yes. That necklace is very valuable, isn't it. And this redcap is dangerous. We probably need all the help we can get. Do you know this castle at all? Does anyone else live there?"

Percy eyes the castle. Can she guess how big it is? How ruined is it? Is there an angle where the party could approach w/o being noticed by someone inside, yet still gain entrance? She murmers into Fridley's ear, then urges him off to circle the clearing, staying among the trees, on that watch for anything large and alive.

The Redcap is reportedly a bit larger than Gorfoot or Ishmael, but so stoutly built that it uses a weapon of a size Rodimus might carry. The thorns know little about it's fighting style except that it wields a scythe and thrives on the blood of its enemies.

From where you stand, the ruined castle can be seen to be a fairly small keep, with everything above the first floor reduced to rubble.

No one else reportedly lives there.
