The Faerie Woods [Knight Otu Judging]

Percy

OOC: Do we see a door or any obvious way to enter?

"OK Nars. Let's all sneak up to the castle, then I will turn you invisible and you can scout ahead. While we give you time, we can discuss strategy more and I'll cast my mage armor spells on me and on Rodiums. I also have an idea on getting the necklace off, but I'll probably let Rodimus have a shot at it first. OK? Let's go!"

The walls are smashed to bits in several locations, and there is so much rubble it's hard to tell where the entry might have been before the destruction. Getting in shouldn't be a problem, though the normal hazzards of travelling on uneven terrain will apply. You know you couldn't run or charge over the terrain you see in front of you, and even moving at full speed would be hazardous unless you are skilled.

"OK. Are we all set? Let's move up to the wall, then I'll cast my mage armor spells. Then we'll let Nars sneak around invisible for a bit. He can try to steal the necklace, or at least locate the redcap. Let's go!"

The party move up towars the wall, at what you judge to be a reasonable distance from which Nars can scout. You are allready walking amongst rubble, and the footing is precarious. Persephone casts her mage armor spells, and is ready to cast invisibilty when Nars is ready to scout.

Invisible, Nars clambors over the rubble. Only portions of the bare outer walls of the keep still stand, the interior is a large field of rubble. In the far corner of the keep there is a lean-to, the smoldering coals of an exstinguished fire, and various objects stashed amidst the rubble. Over the quiet forest noises, you hear singing. While not as tunefull as the lullaby the petals sang you, it seems innocent enough... until you get close enough to hear the words, which are very disturbing.

Sung in the common tongue, the song is about murdering and dismembering school girls. The singer, a small figure with a red-as-blood hat, putters about between the lean to and the fire. A scythe is strapped to his back, and the glint of sunlight sparkles from jewelry at his neck.

Percy takes Nars' hairy cheeks in her palms and plants a kiss on his forehead. Then releases her hands and says 'bye' with a snap of her fingers. As Nars fades from vision, she whispers loudly. "Remeber - you only have four minutes! Don't do anything foolish. Shout if you need us!"

Keeping her eyes on the rubble as she speaks, she tries to figure out the best way to get over the ruins of the walls. She wants to be able to respond quickly if Nars calls out. As she examines the place, she talks to the others.

"I didn't bring any cold iron weapons. I figured my magic would be my best weapon, and not having any cold iron would make me a better diplomat to the faeries. Perhaps it was for this reason their lord selected me to negotiate with. I suspect our best bet is a fierce and direct attack. Rodiumus, you try to grab him and pull away the necklace. Gorefoot, you charge on in there. I don't think there will be any negotiation with this murderer. Ismael, you act as you see fit. I'll fry him as best I can with my purple fire." Her fingers take on a slight purple glow as her mind contemplates the attack.

Nars hopes that the firey red he feels in his cheeks is adequately concealed by the spell. I don't think I will ever quite get used to traveling with her, though it is not unpleasant.

Seeing the necklace around the neck of the redcap, Nars's first option is eliminated. He had hoped it would be lying around and he could filch it while hidden. He had heard of conmen who could lift a person's jewelry from under their nose, but it was dishonorable and he had never seen much use for the skill. Until now.

Nars examines the interior area doing his best to memorize the lay of the land, taking note of the redcaps path and the items scattered about.

OOC: Are there any areas the he can not see from his current position? Is there a path from any direction to the redcap's lean two that is relatively unobstructed? Does the redcap appear to have any ranged weapons, or only the scythe?

You can't see inside the lean to from where you are, and you suppose a trap door could be hidden somewhere amidst the rubble, but it would probably take an excavation team to find it. No paths seem unobstructed in this area. You see no ranged weapons.
