The Faerie Woods [Knight Otu Judging]

Persephone

Persephone starts at Gontor's words.

"Esmerelda Persephone, yes. You're right. Better not to know." She glances around nervously. I need to be more careful, she thinks. She smiles at the group. "Just call me Percy!" She adjusts the bow in her hair, and suddenly her hair becomes much darker.

"Gontor, you place a great trust in us, whom you have never met. It is a trust well placed. We won't spend any of this. And if we fail our mission, we will give it all back. Looks like we have two leads. Asking about the murder, and finding out more on this Fairblood character. We've befriended the captain of the watch, somewhat, after our successful adventure next door. So we could try asking him. As for Fairblood, perhaps asking Joe would be a good start."

I'm also wondering if Morulas might know the rough location of the Fairie Woods?
((Knowledge (Geography) +4 = 15))

The Faerie Woods are a relatively small area in the very southernmost portion of the Silverwood, only about 60 miles north of Orussus. They touch upon Larkenwold Reach.

After excusing yourselves from Gontor's shop, you are ready to make your next move. Do you want to:

1. Talk to the guard, as Persephone suggested.
2. Talk to Joe, also per Persephone.
3. Head to the Faerie Woods.
4. Talk to Rilithorne for some reason.
5. Something completely different...

OOC: I misses the fairy woods bit. How do we know about that & how would we find the necklace even if it were there?

The location of the Faerie Woods was in response to Morulas's knowledge check, above. The reason the Faerie Woods have been discussed is that everyone seems to assume Fey activity around Orussus is centered there, and Rilithorne described the thief as fey (and since then, you've determined the thief is a Redcap.) As to how to find the necklace, it's certainly possible to simply start poking around for it, maybe asking some of the more friendly inhabitants for directions. You could also draw upon the various sources available in Orussus for more information before you leave.

If the blasted vermin's a murderer as well as a thief, do what your honor demands, but if anyone asks it was Gontor that put you on his trail. Fair enough?"

'None other than yourself Sir Gontor Torbith!'
Moruals acknowledges with a formal little bow, quite unconcerned in holding up the dwarfs strange demand.

'A fancy name is not a game I hunt.'
The slender elf reinsures as he turns on his heel with as flamboyant a whirl of his cloak as the small shop allows and heads out into the late morning sunshine.

'Hate to waste a fine day like today not traveling, but as it's almost midday we might as well try some inquiries in town and leave with an hopefully more concrete destination in the morrow.'
The Ranger proposes once outside, his curved eyes still studying the sky, futilely trying to give a weather forecast for the following days from within the city walls.

It hasn't come up ingame yet I believe. I was just wondering if Morulas might know. Besides I was trying the Invisible Castle Dice thingy.

While Morulas is not certain of Tomorrow's weather, it's early summer and warm weather would be most common, possibly with a light rain.

BTW - Rilithorne mentioned the Faerie Woods when he originally described the theft, so it did come up in game before. I don't think anyone asked why he suggested that location, but as a matter of general knowledge that area is considered the center of Fey activity hereabouts.

"Agreed. We should make inquiries at the Red Dragon, the Constabulary and Rilthornes tower." Ishmael thought for a bit then decided to change the order. "Perhaps we should visit the Master Rilthorne first since he is the closest to us at the moment"

When the group is ready, Ishmael says his farewells to Gontor and heads off on his way (riding Courage once outside).

Walking next door to Rilithorne's tower (or riding, as you prefer) takes but a moment. The door opens to your knock, and the blue containment field of recent memory is reasuringly nowhere to be seen. You are geeted by a puppet-like construct who appears quite friendly and who assures you that the master will be happy to see you. Rilithorne steps out from his office moments later.

"Hello, friends! How can I be of service to you today?"

Rodimus comes jogging along as the others are entering Rilithorne's tower.
"Slept long, was hurt worse than thought." Whether he is apologising or just offering an explanation is hard to tell.

Persephone

"Rilithorn! It's so nice of you to see us on such short notice. I hope we're not interrupting any of your experiments."

"Hey, like, we were talking to your neighber Gontor. He has hired us to look for his stolen necklace. Thanks for the tip, there. He seems like such a sweetie, that Gontor. Anyway, evidently he didn't even know the necklace was magical. It must have only started glowing after it was locked up in his safe. We think that little hat guy is called a 'Redcap.' And the necklace was bought from an estate sail of Tarbain Fairblood. Other than that we have no leads. Do you know anything about this sort of stuff?"
