Slag -- I think that one'll need to be a DM roll anyway, since Nars won't be sure of the result. Otherwise, if the board dice roller is giving you a headache, try invisible castle. It's a lot more flexible.

Some or all of you head off to see Frandeth. He's quite busy, but spares you a moment.

"Yes? I apreciate your help on that other matter, but I'll have to ask you to keep this brief. What do you need?"

Percy

"Hi Captain. Thanks so much for your time. Perhaps you remember us, I'm Percy. We extinguished the fire in Rilithorne's tower the other day." She smiles, showing her white teeth behind her full red lips.

"We have reason to suspect a redcap has been in town. This small fey creature is a cruel, vicious killer. We were hoping there hadn't been any murders or anything recently that it might have perpetrated. But if there has been, we might be able to use that information to track it down."

"What's a redcap?" Frandeth asks. "There have been murders, but it doesn't seem like whatever did them would have been small."

Percy kneels next to Gorefoot. "Gorefoot, would you be so kind as to accompany me to see the watch captain? I'd feel much more comfortable with someone as dangerous as you by my side."

Gorefoot gives her a solemn nod and follows her to see the watch captain.

Rodimus thinks it's quite unthinking of the others to make asking around for this Fairblood, a druid apparently, when he doesn't really enjoy talking at all.

Nonetheless, he'll ask around for what word-of-mouth has to say.

OoC: Gather Info -1. Gladly forfeiting to body guard duty if somebody else is going to do the asking around

Sensing the unease in the half-orc, Ishmael invites Rodimus to accompany the halfling (and whoever else is going with them) to the Red Dragon.

Once there, Ishmael asks Joe if he's heard anything about the murders or if he knows anything about fey (redcaps in particular). He also requests permission from the proprietor to gather information about the situation inside his Inn.

He is tightfisted about it but he is willing to spend some gold for drinks (to loosen up tongues). However, he doesn't partake of the alcohol unless its socially appropriate.

Gather Info +2 (untrained)

ooc: I don't know if I have to switch threads for this. I hope not since my second character is in the Red Dragon Inn. But I'm willing to get him out if we have to change threads.

ooc2: If anyone has a better gather info score, he could make the roll and Ishmael can just aid him (if possible).

Hanging about in the red Dragon Inn, it turns out Joe may in fact know something usefull.

"Fairblood? Don't know of Tarbain, but I've heard of Allanoth Fairblood. Supposed to have been fey-touched, or so they say. Won some acclaim working out an accord between the Fey and the humanoid races. Hasn't been around for a long time, though. Must have had some powerfull magic, as the story goes he met with the Fey court and the city council here in Orussus many times a day in order to work out the deal. Fey court's at least 60 miles north of here, you know."

ooc: We can keep it in this thread, for everyones convenience. I think we're at the point of diminishing returns for the information gathering side of tis adenture, anyway. You can ask any specific questions of Frandeth or Joe that you would like, but I'd like to see you all hit the road soon.

Percy

"There have been murders? I know it's amazing that things so little as Redcaps could cause so much damage, but I'm assured it is true. When was the most recent murder? Perhaps we could investigate it. We're very interested in tracking down this particular redcap, and it may still be around here."

Frandeth

"There has been a murder every night since right after the tower caught fire. Bodies are all sliced up, blood everywhere. You can easilly see a trail of blood leaving the scene, but it stops suddenly after half a dozen yards."
