"No pattern we know of, unless you count being out after dark alone. No valuables were found with the bodies, so it may have been robbery as well as murder."

Ishmael politely thanked Joe. He wasn't sure how exactly to make of this new information.

"We should meet with the others and give them this"

He got out of the Inn and rode Courage toward the party's meeting place.

Percy

"Thank you so much Frandeth!" Percy says. "If you get any more leads or want some help, let us know. You can track us down through Joe at the Red Dragon. I'm Persephone, and this is Gorefoot and Nars. Good luck with all your good work."

Percy then suggests that the group return to meet the others at the jewlry store. Assuming we are all able to hook back up, Percy will try to summarize.

"So. The murders started right after this robbery. It seems that this necklace is a powerful magic item. Somehow it attracted the attention of a redcap, who has come to town, stolen it, and is now killing an innocent civilian each night."

"It also seems that this necklace didn't initially radiate magic, but some event, perhaps Rilithorn's experiments, activated it, and the redcap actually may have been summoned by it."

"Help me out here, gang, if I'm missing something. Now what's our next step? I would think the necklace is still here in Orussus, with the murderous redcap. What if we send a lone decoy out into the street at night, in the vicinity of the other murders. If we can get the redcap to attack, we'll all jump it. Hopefully we'll be able to overpower it. What do you think?"

OOC: I think Percy is off base here, since Patlin seems to think we should hit the road. But I'm not sure what we'd do exactly, if we made it to the fairy woods. Help me out here, gang.

ooc: Hey, I'm always open to alternatives. Nars blew my mind in Burning Tower when he was considering knocking the podium into the containment field. That would have had all sorts of effects I wasn't planning on.... Do whatever you would like, and I'll adapt the adventure to fit.

"Well, ah, if our bait is not attacked, it will leave us no closer to solving the problem. The, ah, druids near these Faerie Woods might know something, though I don't have the slightest idea how to find them. Can any of us communicate with these, er fay creatures? Perhaps some of them would help. If a dwarf was a, ah, murderer, I'd want to know so I could take 'im to task myself. That is, er, ah, a suggestion." Nars clears his throat and looks down and examines his boots for scuff marks.

Ishmael threw some thoughts of his own and seconded the ideas that he liked.

"I think thine idea hath merit, Milad-, I mean, Percy. Nars doth have a point however. The bait is the thing.

The Fairblood estate hath been auctioned and sold. I wonder if the fey be picking up those items one by one? And do these thefts and murders have anything to do with Allanoth Fairblood's link to Faerie wood? Rumors do mention that he is fey-touched.

According to Joe, the Faerie wood is sixty miles away. That is quite a distance. The gathering of supplies should be in order.

Perhaps an investigation of the old Fairblood estate might give us some clues. It might be too costly in time though. Going in blind shall likely leave us with naught.

Whatever the case, when we go to the wood to investigate, we should check with the local druids as Nars suggested"

Percy

"But what will we find in the fairy woods? Aren't we trying to retrieve the necklace? And punish the theif? Doesn't it seem that the same redcap is probably responsible for these murders, which started just when the necklace was stolen? It certainly seems to me that the redcap is still in Orussus, and thus the necklace probably is as well."

"During the day we could try to investigate the victims and see if there's a pattern. At night, we could lay the bait."

Ishmael nodded in agreement, feeling like he had spoken more than enough as of late. Accustomed to being a silent follower rather than a leader, he looked at the others for their opinions.
