OOC: So, any other volunteers? Or is Ishmael going to be it? If he is going to be the bait, he's going to purchase a cold iron kukri (16gp, 1 lb)

OOC: Gorefoot will buy a cold iron kukri, I'll figure out how much it is and mark it on my sheet. Gorefoot won't volunteer, as he thinks he should stick close to Persephone. That, and he'd have a tough time looking wealthy. :)

OOC: With his owlbear cloak and tough defenses, Ishmael is the man. Paitlin, I think you'll have to assume we've scouted a bit and found the best area we can. We want someplace near the other murders (if possible), somewhat away from heavy traffic, and with some places for the others to hide.

You find such a location. Everyone should be able to hide within a 40' radius. What will Ishmael be doing while waiting to be attacked?

Percy

"OK, Ishmael. I'm sorry to put you at the greatest risk, but you do seem best suited for it. Now, we would rather you basically stay put. If you walk around, it is difficult for us to cover you. Perhaps you could pretend to be waiting for someone, or looking for something. Or perhaps you could pretend to be drunk and sit around singing."

"I'll try to find a hiding place further away, probably, since my magic missiles have a range of about 130 feet. Nars, you and Gorefoot should probably take the closest hiding spots, so you can sneak attack, and Gorefoot can get right in there and do his stuff. I'm not sure about the rest of you. But if Ishmael is attacked by a little redcap, it would probably be hard to hit it with arrows in the midst of combat, so Morulas, you and Rodimar should probably try to close. I don't know if they can fly."

Rodimus nods in agreement, glad to have others make plans for him. It was easier to stay in the shadow of others, not drawing too much attention.
And then striking when the time is right.

"Ok." Gorefoot looks around their ambush area for cover.

OOC: Patlin, what sort of cover is around?

Ishmael nodded, mulling over each of Persephone's suggestions.

When everyone had taken their positions, he sat down against a wall and began singing (Untrained Perform +2). Now and then, he drank from his waterskin. Eventually, his voice would become hoarse... but then, he was counting on it.

This was no way for a knight to behave, he thought to himself. But if they defeated the fey here, then many a life would be spared and a dwarf's honor would be restored.

Besides, a true knight of the Wooden Sword had honor enough to shame himself for others. At least, that was the rationalization going through his head.
