The Faerie Woods [Knight Otu Judging]

Gorefoot clamps his knife in his teeth and scrambles up the wall next to him in order to get to a better attack position.

OOC: Moving to F21 via climb.

Round 9 Concludes

Initiative
Redcap (40 damage)
Nars
Gorefoot (12 damage of 27 hp/31 raging)
Rodimus (21 damage of 18 hp, -3)
Persephone (12 damage of 21 hp)
Ishmael

Nars backs of, readying an action to defend himself.

Gorefoot climbs to the top of the wall.

Rodimus fails to stabilize, dropping to -4 hp.

Persephone stumbles forward, trying to get into position.

Ishmael advances to G23, desperately trying to come to the aid of his companions.

Percy

"Stay clear of that Scythe! I'll help Roddy! Get your bolts, Nars. 'bye!"

With that, Percy winks our of sight, and ...

OOC: With Percy invisible, it's probably best to put her actions in spoiler tags, since the party wouldn't know what she's doing either...

[sblock]Percy casts invisibility, (standard action) then moves to Rodimus, with the intention of using one of his potions of CLW on him. Keeping her rod in hand, she moves: balance check=5. Does that mean she makes no progress at all? I could use an updated map.[/sblock]

Round 10 begins

Initiative
Nars
Redcap (40 damage)
Gorefoot (12 damage of 27 hp/31 raging)
Rodimus (21 damage of 18 hp, -3)
Persephone (12 damage of 21 hp)
Ishmael

As the Redcap takes a 5' step forward [to F18], Nars springs into action, slashing awkwardly at the Redcap. While he does not connect, he fends the beast off a bit, making the Redcap's attack more difficult. ooc: Fighting defensively, with tumble bonus.

The Redcap's return blow penetrates his defences, striking him down to the ground, rendering him unconcious with 15 damage. Nars is at -1.

(Gorefoot goes here.)
Edit: Leaping from the wall [to F19] Gorefoot bellows and slashes the Redcap with a critical hit! He deals 14 points of damage.

Rodimus fals to stabilize, dropping to -4.

Persephone shouts out instructions, and then disapears. In just a moment, her imovable rod appears floating in mid air where she had been.
[sblock]Stumbling, the invisible persephone fails to save herself from a fall. She loses her grip on the rod, which becomes visible as she accidentally releases it. As she falls this time, some of the items she carries fall loose from her backpack. One of these, the packet given her by the fey, glows from within in a manner she had not previously noticed. Persephone may either stand up with her second move action, or pick up one of the things she dropped: the fey packet, her signal whistle, or her water bottle.

Also, could you change your picture again? I find it confusing when I try to skim for DM posts to check my past rulings.[/sblock]

Seeing that the Redcap is very near the wall, Gorefoot runs to the edge of the wall, and leaps down upon the Redcap, trying to drive his cold iron kukri through the blood-soaked cap and into the Redcap's brainpan.

OOC: I think the Redcap is back in G19? Gorefoot will jump into whatever square is easiest to attack the Redcap from and make a strike.

Attack with kukri +8 (+10 if he gets the charge bonus), 1d3+5 points of damage, 18-20/x2 crit-range.

Jump +6

Percy

BIC: "Stocking runs!" shouts a disembodies voice below the rod

[sblock] OOC: Changed avatar back. & I'd completely forgotten about the little wicker basket filled w/wonderful food. Percy does have a plan, but is having difficulty pulling it off, as she keeps falling down and Nars brought attention to the sling, which she'd hoped to use by surprise... oh well, maybe this...

BIC: Seeing the little basket glow, Percy picks it up. Then she reaches up for the rod, and uses it to help her stand. She'll then open the little basket and look inside again.[/sblock]

Persephone:

[sblock]Not having eaten since having left the fey, the food smells especially wonderfull. Demanding your attention, though, is a small object that seems to be a transparent egg, with blue and white gasses rolling around inside it. A note attached to the egg reads "Some healing, just in case. Bring me that Necklace!"

Amidst all of the stress of the combat, something odd occurs to Persephone as she looks in the basket. While the Faerie Food smells mouthwateringly good, more normal food doesn't even really smell like food to her anymore.[/sblock]

OOG: Ishmael jumps to G20 (1d20+10=27, 1d20+10=24, 1d20+10=30) and heals Gorefoot. If he can't reach around the corner, then he'll heal Nars instead, since between him and the monk, he has a better chance of escaping. Either way, he'll heal (1d8+1=6)

Ishmael shudders when he sees the stricken Nars fall to the laughing Redcap's might. He grits his teeth to fight off the welling despair in his heart.

The Fiend is so strong! What can One do against such reckless hate?

After regaining his feet, the Deep Halfling takes a second to size up the terrain and find stable places amongst the treacherous grounds. After ascertaining landing spots, he leaps thrice to land just around the corner from the frenzied Gorefoot.

He cannot find it in himself to taunt the Fiend any longer. So strong was his Adversary that fear begins to eat at his heart. Ishmael is terrified of that bloodied scythe. That he does not flee the battle is victory enough for him.

With the wand in his right hand, he reaches out to heal (Gorefoot or Nars). He utters that twice spoken phrase that activates the magick within the talisman "Curare Sut!"

if Gorefoot is healed:
"Take heart, Gorefoot!" he cheers, though his heart is not in it.

If Nars, he whispers
"Run, Nars. Fly to thine iron bolts and feather the fiend!"

OOG2: How wounded does the look Redcap now? Description wise, I mean.

[sblock]OOC: So the egg is the thing glowing? Nothing else? Assuming so,

BIC: Percy puts the egg in her pocket, and the package of food back in her pack. She'll leave her whistle and water bottle, as she's in a hurry.[/sblock]

OOC: I'm going to be gone for most of the next week. I may be able to post occasionally, but go ahead and have Nars act as per these instructions (assuming he is healed at some point):
If he is healed, and the redcap still threatens him, he wants to avoid the attack of opportunity for standing. He will fight from the ground if need be.
Once the redcap no longer threatens him, he moves to retrieve the crossbow and bolts. He will load the crossbow and move to a position 30 feet from the redcap where it does not have soft cover and begin firing every round, continuing to move to avoid soft cover if necessary. The redcap is flat footed due to balancing so takes sneak attack damage. There are currently 8 cold iron bolts remaining.
