The Faerie Woods [Knight Otu Judging]

OOG: Ishmael draws the scroll of Protection from Evil and successfully casts (1d100=11) it. If he can make a 5-foot adjustment without a chance of tripping, he'll do so, moving away from the Redcap. Declaring Dodge on the Redcap, if I haven't done so yet.

AC 21 (+3 dex, +1 size, +5 armor, +2 deflection) w/ PoE, 22 w/ dodge.

Ishmael chooses to subtract 3 from all his attack rolls until the next round. His AoO modifier should be like so: +1 Glaive +4 1d8+10

Fate gives Ishmael a reprieve, stalling the Redcap with a stubbed toe.

He backs a short distance away from the cursing Redcap and suddenly notices the lack of grace in his steps.

The Spell of Swiftstriding must have expired! I must cast it anew, else mine path of escape is denied me! He searches within himself and finds that he no longer has the sorcerous energy to cast a spell of that magnitude. He needed rest, first.

Ishmael keeps the realization and the mounting terror within his fast-beating heart. I... we must slay it somehow. Escape is no longer an option for me!

With what little time is given him, the Deep Halfling prepares for the whirlwind of death that wishes to charge him. He keeps his eyes on the Fey as he plucks an Arcane Scroll marked "Spell of Warding" from his belt.

Ishmael flaps the magic parchment open with one hand. Afterwards, he reads aloud the contents. The spell disappears from the magicked scroll and transfers unto the Deep Halfling, creating a protective barrier.

He drops the blank scroll to the ground and hefts his Glaive in defense, once more. His eyes follow the bloodied Scythe blade with no small amount of anxiousness.

Round 14 Continues
Rodimus (NPC's) repeats his attempt to grapple the Redcap rom a Prone position but is shoved away by the powerfull Redcap.

The Redcap's sling springs up from the rubble into the air and then suddenly disapears. With the rough terrain and the fact that the Redcap now has no ranged attack, the heroes may have a chance to triumph if they can just keep away from the deadly scythe!

Sir Ishmael wards himself against the forces of evil.

Round 15 Begins

Initiative
Nars
Redcap (57 damage) and starting to look hurt
Rodimus (3 damage of 18 hp, stil prone)
Persephone
Ishmael

Nars (NPC'd) moves to the crossbow and picks it up, along with the bolts.

The Redcap once again tries to strike down Rodimus. He hits him squarely, it being too difficult to avoid the scythe while prone. The Scythe blade penetrates deeply into the Monk's chest, and another hero dies!

(Persephone is next. Things are looking grim, if anyone is holding anything in reserve now would be a good time!)

*cough* A scythe does 2d4, not 2d8 *cough*.

Thanks! This guy's bad enough without me messing up like that!

Revised damage: 2d4+13=18

Rodimus's injury is not as bad as it first appeared! He is hit solidly, and reduced to -3 hp, but lives.

(Gorefoot's allready got that protective spirit groove going, I guess.)

:Sheepish smile:

Percy

She shouts at Ismael as she moves. "Stay away from him Ismael! I've got a plan!"

OOC: [sblock] Percy tries to retreat around the low wall to F26, which is about 30 feet. Balance check: 11. failure, I believe. Percy plans to reopen her attack, but needs to put some distance between her and the redcap before she reappears.

Did Percy also get Ishmael's dart?[/sblock]

OOC: Nice catch there, ghost-of-gorefoot!

Persephone: [sblock]You are referring to the dart which hit the Redcap? I don't think we established what happened to it after impact, but I'll rule that the redcap shook it loose and it lies out of sight, burried in the rubble.[/sblock]

Rodimus lets out another blood-spurting curse as his mind again slips to unconsciousness.

OoC: I think Rodimus is developing a bad habit of getting hit by a scythe :p

Percy: [sblock] Can I add that Percy stuffs the sling into her pocket before she walks, and carries the rod in her hands, ready to use? Can we assume she covers some ground before stumbling?[/sblock]

Persephone:[sblock] On rounds in which you do stumble, the rules impose a penalty of preventing movement. While it may be a silly rule, sometimes silly is better than complicated, so I'll stick with the rules as written. The sling is tucked away in your pocket, and the rod is at the ready. [/sblock]
