The Faerie Woods [Knight Otu Judging]

"Who there?" Rodimus asks back at the darkness, trying to see through the darkness with his orcish eyes.
"Not trust people who don't show themself."

The worg steps out from behind a bush, clear in the darkness to Rodimus's darkvision.

"Trust? I do not speak of trust. Let us speak of hot, warm blood instead." The worg growls. "I must give my pack the blood of this wizard. I seek no conflict with you or yours. My pack is strong, and you would do well to respect our strength. I offer you the opportunity to walk away from this territory unmolested."

"We need the wizard. You can't get another?"
While speaking with the pack leader, the monk tries to hear if there are other worgs outside his vision.

Rodimus thinks that at least 2 more Worgs are nearby.

"It is traditional for a new pack leader to demonstrate his prowess by choosing some form of dangerous prey and leading the pack to take him down. I have promised my pack the blood of this Wizard. No other will do. If you place yourself between my pack and our prey, blood will flow."

"You are not pack. One cannot be pack leader without first being pack."

The worg seems to suffer a moment of doubt at Rodimus's challenge to its authority, perhaps due to its allready significant wounds, and takes a few steps backward.

"So become pack, beat, then become pack leader?"
Rodimus is starting to become rather frustrated at the complicate dealings. In the monastery he was raised, anybody could come and challenge the head teacher to a martial duel for the position.

The Worg, apparently as frustrated as Rodimus, gives a low growl punctuated by a sharp bark. You suspect it must have been some sort of command in Worg, for two of his companions immediately leap forward, going for the half-orc's throat.

The worg leader seems especially warry, and prepared to defend himself. (OOC: Surprise round, Full Defense.)

Rodimus may make a DC 12 sense motive check. If succesfull, he may act in the surprise round.

All roll initiative. All but Rodimus make a DC 12 listen check, failure means you are sleeping and remain asleep for round 1, only.

OOG: Listen Check (1d20+1=14) vs. DC 12: Success!
Initiative (1d20+3=18)

OOG2: A question for the GM-Where is Courage the Warpony? Since he is kind of small, he can fit inside the building. I don't plan to make Ishmael ride it into battle right now, though.

Ishmael's sensitive ears catch sound of the events outside. The Deep Halfling awakes with a start, grabbing the warsledge lying beside him and standing up. He will attempt to peer outside through a window, if one is open.
