The funny thing about paladins of wee jas...

According to Tomb of Battle: The Book of Nine Swords, you can have Paladins of Wee Jas.

OK.

Interestingly, one could have a Paladin of Wee Jas fall from grace and become a LE ex-paladin/blackguard, without even once wavering in his loyalty to Wee Jas. I'm not sure the goddess would even be that bothered about the shift in alignment.

Your thinking of the Church of Wee Jas as monolithic rather than mortals interpreting the will of the divine.

Had one in my last game. Pretty tricky to be a paladin in a church that has a non-trivial number of LE members....
The primary axis of her church is lawful, though, isn't it? And it's not like there aren't plenty of people who share a god who disagree about the best way to live despite that.

I think a Lawful Intolerant paladin of Wee Jas would be a really neat character, with imagery you'd never normally see associated with a paladin.

I almost played a paladin of Wee Jas in the AoW games I'm in, but the general bent of characters made didn't really let a paladin fit in. It's a tricky beast, but a really cool way to get your roleplay fix.

Wee Jas is easily my favorite Greyhawk deity.

Except in FR, paladins do not have a deity alignment requirement at all. A paladin could freely worship Kord, Farlanghn, or anyone else.

Heck, paladins don't even need a deity at all! But then, neither do clerics....

Ohhh, I can just see the ruby skull encrusted, black flame enveloped holy sword now!

Dang, I want to play that character!

Doesn't it give an entirely different take on the concept of a paladin? :D

You still kick the snot out of (non-church-sponsored) undead, you still defeat evil, you still work to promote the values of your deity and make the world a better place...you just do it with a certain red-and-black gothic style. Adapt the deathless template to Sueloise undead created by the Jasidan clergy, and you could even adventure with them!

:]

True. You could have a cleric of Chaotic Goodness who simply prayed to Wee Jas, just as you can have one who honors Kord, or a CE one that follows Orcus (who isn't a god).
