The Good Wife?

Haven't found this show to be watched by any of my friends or regular chat buddies on the internet, but it's apparently a highly watched show, so ... which of you out there is a fan, like me?

I've never felt so rewarded for being an intelligent viewer, paying attention, and being up-to-date on current events and the like. The conversations and the characters are witty, there's things that are left unsaid and you, as the viewer, are expected to fill them in ... and it's all just so GOOD!

You should enjoy Season 2. It starts by hitting the ground running, and it's getting oh-so-very-good as the election nears.

I think the title might be keeping away much of the audience it's suited for. The people who liked West Wing.

My dad was really skeptical about it, but then he saw an episode and turned into a fan.

You are probably right. I was also a huge TWW fan, and I enjoyed The Wire and Homicide: Life on the Street and many other shows that were rather intelligent and heady.

I do my best to convince people that it's good stuff, but it's been slow going. The Emmy win for Archie Panjabi may help, too.

I certainly enjoy it and haven't missed an episode. I don't think it's anywhere near the level of The West Wing or The Wire in terms of intelligence, but it's still quite good.

I guess I'd agree with you that it's not on the same level as The West Wing, but we will only get such a show once every 30-40 years, so ...

I DO think it assumes we're as smart as The West Wing assumed its audience was, and there are very few shows on TV right now I can say that about. For that, I'm on board -- the inter-character relationships and nice mix of legal and political drama keep me coming each week.

P.S. -- cool meeple avatar. ;)

My wife and I love this show also. I think it's just as intelligent as TWW, it just has a different flavor. The Good Wife has a little more seediness to it (at least under the surface). More shades of gray than black and white. We've been hooked right from the start.

Without dropping any spoilers, El Mahdi, do you think it's gotten more seedy in Season 2 with the permanent addition of Mr. Gold and all the campaign machinations?
