"The Gunslinger" re-issue

More accurately, many of Stephen King's "worlds" interact with each other on some level. The world of the Dark Tower is sort of the hub to those other worlds. The Talisman, The Black House, Hearts in Atlantis, and Insomnia (just to name a few) all relate, in some form or fashion, to the world depicted in the Dark Tower series.

I strongly suggest you read The Black House, as it tells you alot about what's really going on.

It was actually after reading Black House (and all the Dark Tower info revealed therein) that I first thought about the Dark Tower mythos as an RPG setting. The Black House info opens things up and (as Apok said) reveals a lot about what's going on, making the setting more playable (at least in my eyes). No more, lest I spoil anything. But I'll second Apok's suggestion that anyone who wants to know what's going on with The Dark Tower read Black House.

Yeah, I ment that the world of Talisman is connected to the Dark Tower.

Back on topic: anyone read the new Gunslinger yet?

I've started to read the revised Gunslinger. I haven't read too much, but I've noticed some new material. So far, So good.

Very enjoyable. Worth the money.

Now on to The Drawing of the Three (it'll be like the third time I read it oddly enough)

Does it have a d8 hit die, proficency with light weapons only, and the ability to hide in plain sight in natural settings?

I never had a chance to read the original, so I plan to read the revised release. I'll never know what I missed.

You're not going to miss anything. Everything in the original novel is in the revised.

I'll just say the stuff Stephen King added to the updated The Gunslinger amounts to lots of foreshadowing the later books.
