The Heal/Harm revision?

You sure have a large post count for being such an tactless troll.

And you sure have a high post count, Doc, for being such a humorless wanker. :D You seem like you're in a bad mood today, old man. Forget to take your Metamucil?

You missed the boat. All my posts regarding harm should be taken with all the salt you've got.

Harmer vs. Harmer.

So far Doc's definitely winning in the witty stakes. I wonder who'll be first to cast Harm...

Fourecks sits down with some popcorn and continues to watch.

Damn you Fourecks! Now I'm the 2nd guy to attempt to use
Harm as DnD wit in this thread!

Lets just hope for doc M this isn't settled by mini painting... Tom's paint jobs are impressive!

Hey, no need for this to become a flame war. I'm usually the first to say that people who house rule Harm just aren't trying hard enough ... but in this case, the first post was a valid Harm post (the first in a while).

Interesting that they revise spells to make is LESS powerful for Epic Levels. That seems pretty unusual ... and sorta cowardly of WotC. Why not just errata the spell entirely?

Dying from one spell is part of D&D. It's exciting to have to make that roll (either a save, or in this case an attack with Harm).

Oh, and let me just say, Epic Levels are boring anyway. Snooze.....

Poor Gary Gygax. Rolling over in his grave, I say. :)

This belongs in D&D Rules, I believe.

And how do I know if this pained Gary Gygax? Because according to photo evidence from that reliable reporter, P.A., Gary Gygax is Eric Noah's son, and Eric would be the first to know. :D

The save or dies i can understand, it is not fun to have an enouter nerfed on a single die in the the first round.

But a lot of the other changes seem to degrade the epic progression of casters quite a bit.

As it stands anyways, saves are increasing at 1/2 levels yet DC's are increasing at best 1/6 levels if you sink ALL of your feats into stat boosting feats. There are no magical ways to boost your dc's over the long term outside of Epic spells.

Is there something i am missing in epic?

Presumably Heighten Spell still works with epic-level spell slots, so you could turn that 6th level disintegrate into a 16th level one, with commensurate DC.
