The Hunted (DM: IronSky, Judge: ???)

OOC: I could, yes, but you could also fail and spend what little surges you have (and Illarion has 4 remaining which would make him risk most of them if the trap is bad enough.


IronSky, if precautions are taken (making make-shift baricade to shield from the blast from the door and similiar) could that be used as some bonus to defenses?

Here are the rolls, I'll let pac decide. Rolled only 5 since one success is already accounted for and 6 is needed...erm...I see the error of my ways, added two more.

GM: Possibly, though Mab could tell you that the traps extend into the room itself. They also appear to be mechanical, not magical. It would take more checks(and more time) to investigate the whole room to determine the extend of the traps in the room containing the metal door.

OOC: Just so you know, there was less then 20% you'll miss this with all successful aids... - and we need to do it all over again and waste who know how many surges...we made a bad call :D

Illarion watches what Tristram is doing and as the woman's voice raises he throws himself aside rolling quickly over the floor, cursing at the robes he needs for the disguise.

OOC: Total defense and prone if possible :)
 

The Hunted: Day 1, Hour 4, Minute 25

A hail of razor-sharp needles fires from the ceiling, spraying Mab and Illarion, wounding the old woman badly and nearly killing the sorcerer.

Razor Needle Trap: 18 Reflex vs Mab, miss, 12 damage, 19 Reflex vs Illarion, hit, 25 damage.

GM: Oops. Redaction. We'll assume the group stabilizes Illarion so no worries for death saves, though you'll probably need an extra 5 minute rest while Xander patches you guys up again (which will take the whole group to Minute 33). If you're going to try it again, you can, but the skill challenge is reset.

GM: Ah, fixed. You guys can take surge + 2d6+7s heals (or surge+14) if you don't feel like rolling for it. I imagine one of those will probably be enough to mostly top you two off.

OOC: Do I count healing from -1, 0 or +1? Healing (2d6=8) +7 +6 = 21
Depending on the answer I may be at 20, 21 or 22. If I'm at 20, I'll spend second surge to top off and remain at two surges.

As Illarion drops, his elven features melt and featureless face greets Xander as he comes to help.
"Next time, when you accept help from someone, actually listen to them, woman! Thank you, Xander, that hurt." he stands up, his face resuming his elven disguise

Devinihm frowns a moment, considering. "Are those who change always hunted here?" he asks. There is a momentary buzzing beneath his leaf cloak. "If so, I should keep the swarm hidden, no?"

After Mab and Illarion recover from the trap, the group is ready to go... somewhere.

I got Double damage or something?! I mean 12 vs 25!!

GM: You heal from 1. Also, I forgot to put the "miss" next to the trap's attack vs Mab. Fixed now above. It hit for 25, half damage on a miss is 12.
