The Jade Frontier (DM: Ukingsken, Judge: Lord Sessadore)

Patronis is not adverse to killing thing and taking it's shinies so to speak so once out of certain peril he will go about each of the bodies and collect what he can search each of the bodies carefully for any well hidden items....

"I'm glad I'm in such experienced company... we all did very well despite being vastly outnumbered.... well done all" the warlock says as he rifles through one of the scale kobolds pouches....

[sblock=ooc]Good Job ukingsken, despite the rules, I don't have the dedication to run a game so I really appreciate you taking the time to do so. It was a great challenge and really scared me for a moment, just what someone really hopes to get out of an encounter.
[/sblock]

"Filthy little beasts, I'm glad were getting paid to get rid of them, I never was too sure how close of relatives dragonborn were to kobolds and wouldn't have been too sure how they would have taken it killing them on Dragonborn land."

"And I agree, that could have gone much worse in less skilled hands, I'm surprised how well we managed to work together despite never having done so before. Find anything useful Patronis?"
Shayla states as she starts rumaging through their belongings, perhaps they will find some of their own stuff that hadn't been missed since last night yet.

[sblock=Healing]Assuming we have enough time to take a couple 5 minute rests after looting and moving on, we can use my healing words
Healing on Miranna = 15 back to full 1 healing surge used
Everyone else who's damaged my minimum (1d6+5 = 6+Healing Surge) will heal you to full, spend 1 healing surge and we'll be ready to roll in 10 minutes.

Mr Bricks retrieves his dagger from where it fell out of the slinger's body, he also takes its sling pellet and its fire pot, that done, he helps Patronis strip the bodies of their valuables.

"A little recompense, I think. """ "

Cheysuli Sage

A look of satisfaction overcomes Chey as the two kobold halves fly past her, splattering her face and clothes with tiny specks of blood. With any iminant danger gone, cheyculi calmly lays on the floor and rolls backward and forward putting out the burning pitch (and covering her sticky clothes with dirt from the road!).

With the fire out, and looking as though she had been dragged behind a horse for a number of hours, Chey stands and takes a long draw on her waterskin.

"Yes we did do well; though now my anger has gone, i wonder if we should have kept one of them around to question, it certainly seems to me that there is more than just banditry going on here. Those little b*****ds were prattling on about creepy showdows, and something called shal... shadn... no; shadraxil, that was it. I wonder what it is?"

Noticing that some of the others are busying themselves searching for loot, Chey moves to help.
[sblock=OOC]Search (perception) aid another check with bonus from Shayla (1d20+1+1=11) success![/sblock]
[sblock=XP & Encounter]Do we add the XP to our sheets ourselves? if so, should our total be 100, or was there other xp for the stuff previous to the fight? A very gripping and cinematic encounter i thought :) very enjoyable![/sblock]

[sblock=ooc] Well I'm glad everyone found the fight engaging. it's been a while for me since I DM'd (probably since I took this job) but I do so love watching people react to a story so I'm glad you enjoyed ;) And dont worry malanore, as long as you keep nitpicking for me I'll run this one straght to finish. Besides a lil bit longer now and I'll have all the proverbial muscle cramps worked out.[/sblock]

As you search the kobolds you find a lot of what you'd expect. A scattering of silver, the javelins, daggers, and short swords they wielded, one lucky clay pot even survived the dismemberment of the slinger. Also as you are all rummaging through their possessions Mr. Bricks calls out. The last of the shadowscales has a very different shield.

The other 2 had simple handmade rope tacked to the back of the shield with some sort of glue, a very crude approximation of a shield. But the shadowscale shield carried by the third is of much higher quality. All the expected leather padding and strapping is meticulously crafted to the back as well as an inscription that Mr. Bricks is unable to read. Looking the front over closely you also notice a smaller scale motif carved in relief on the front of the shield.

[sblock=Loot]34 SP, shadowscale heavy shields x2, Javelin x10, Dagger x1, Sling x1, 20 sling bullets, 1 clay pot bullet, 3 short swords, Inscribed Heavy shield[/sblock]

Other then the items you have found, the rest of their gear is either badly mangled from the fight, or more often kobold sized and virtually useless to any of you. Strangely you notice that the slinger seems to have a glass bottle full of what appear to be wasps.

"I'll take the spare dagger, sling bullets and fire pot if no one minds."

Mr Bricks shows the shield off, "What do you all make of this?" then he shakes the jar of wasps and gets them good and angry "I'll have the bottle o' buzzers too if you like."

[sblock=Fun] Excellent encounter, my first proper DnD encounter for more years than I care to count[/sblock]
[sblock=Healing]I'll need to spend a healing surge - if anyone has any powers that might help me with that?[/sblock]

"Well I can only venture a guess but as kobolds like to THINK they are descendant of dragon kind I can only assume the language is draconic... sadly I cannot read the language yet but I WOULD like some time to study the shield at some point as that is one of the languages I am hoping to learn sometime soon the warlock utters as he looks over the jar of wasps and cocks his head a little... "what in Hades are they doing with wasps in a jar?" Patronis adds as he looks over the rest of the part to make sure everyone is bandaging and healing well...

Cheysuli Sage

"Well, personally; I think it is cruel to keep them in there, and even crueler to agitate them unnecessarily Mr. Bully!" Chey sticks her tongue out at Mr. Bricks.
She walks over to him, and holds his wrist so that he cannot shake the jar, then studies the insects closely.

OOC: Nature Check (1d20+2=17)

Miranna kept a worried watch on the trail as the others went through the bodies. She thanked Shayla for the healing, but her other words were not as encouraging...

"We did well enough, but at least one of them got away. We'll need to watch for more ambushes. They know we're here, and when none of these others return, their friends will know that we are tough, a real threat."

OOC: At least one short rest period, if we can manage it- but we don't want to linger overlong.

[sblock=ooc] You are welcome to the short rest. After that you still have time to reach Maoleth just after dusk.[/sblock]

As Cheysuli studies the bottle it dawns on her that these are the venemous wasps that inhabit the area. While not toxic enough to kill an adult their sting would certainly be painful.
