As the Party moves a few hundred yards downriver with their captive, Yishim spends a few minutes gathering his thoughts and being healed by Shayla.

Yishim gathers a variety of strange objects, tiny gems and what appears to be vials of fairy dust from his pack, and begins chanting in a strange tongue. After 10 minutes, he stops, and listens to what the dragonshield has to say once the others revive the creature.

So it's decided? We're having a short rest? I think a song is in order to assist us with recovery. Firete sheathes her sword after wiping it clean of blood on the grass and tests the strings of her harp to make sure it is still in tune. Satisfied, she settles into a song.

Miranna continued to look worried, but did not object as the group paused for a brief respite- perhaps she had used up most of her speaking for the time. She took up a guard over the bound (and gagged, until questioning starts) captive, her sword ready in hand.

OOC: Drop back around 200 yards, along our back trail and find a good position. If we could have someone with a decent Perception keep watch for kobold intervention that would be ideal. Miranna will spend one Healing Surge for the rest.

[sblock=OOC]Well, after Shayla the next best to keep watch is Brenwar or Chey, Chew if you can't keep watch and spend a healing surge as the rets of us have not very good scores or are doing something[/sblock]

OOC: Let Shayla take the guard duty, while we do our rest/questioning. Though the questioning is likely to be "Go on, talk, or we'll stick another sword in you."

Cheysuli Sage

Chey confers with her companions away from the ears of their captive; "Follow my lead friends, I have an idea. There are certain assumptions that come with these horns; they are most often a hindrance, but in certain situations they are of great benefit!"

As the kobold sits bound and gagged, a circle of arcane sigils etched into the dirt around him (a remnant of Yishim's ritual), Cheysuli fills her presence with authority. She strides purposely toward the creature; shadows from the trees and bushes that surround the small clearing flow toward her, wrapping and writhing around her body. Only the silver orbs of her eyes penetrate the umbral mist that clings to her.

"You are in a lot of trouble slave," She purrs as she traces a single finger down the kobold's face, "The One True Master will not be pleased one... Little... Bit!" the last word is almost spat as Cheysuli roughly grabs the lizards neck and forces the reptilian vermin to look her in the eye.

"Zal'Ekthees is well aware that your leader seeks power for himself and does not truly follow Him. Our Master has infinite power; he sees all that happens in this land, did you honestly believe that you could get away with taking for yourselves what He has ordered you to acquire for him?!" Chey shakes her head in disbelief then tightens her grip on the kobold's neck, all but cutting the air from it's lungs, "Zal'Ekthees is not normally a forgiving master; He demands complete obedience from his subjects, and deviance from this has only one punishment..."
Cheysuli stares meaningfully into it's eyes, "... You are lucky that the time draws close, and He has need of his armies I for one would exterminate you all for your disobedience... If you once more swear your allegiance to Him, and offer up the one who has led your brethren away from His orders as a just sacrifice, you and your kind will be spared his wrath... But be warned, such forgiveness will never again be offered!"
Cheysuli releases her grip on the kobolds neck just enough to let it speak.
