The Jade Frontier (DM: Ukingsken, Judge: Lord Sessadore)

Yishim offers his input: Kobolds are slippery creatures - as good as our bindings might be, I wouldn't trust them for more than a few hours. His mere existence would provide some support to our belief that something beyond the normal skirmishing raids is going on here - if we could get him back to town. Perhaps one of us should take him there?

In any case, we should get into the caves before any more significant preparation can be made by those on the other side. Already there's a good chance they know something's afoot.

OOC: Was Shayla going to depart the party?

Brenwar, would not killing it now be killing in cold blood? I thought you would be more versed in matters such as these than I.
Brenwar grimaces at the suggestion, "It is by no means my preferred course of action but I would, however, prefer to bring its evil to an end rather than allowing it to escape our grasp to wreak more havoc. If it does escape and it hurts one of you or an innocent isn't that blood then on our hands? I would prefer to return the creature to town, but if that isn't possible..." He leaves his last thoughts unspoken but he obviously isn't enthused with the idea of leaving the creature bound here.

"I know that we have only known each other a little while, some even less," Cheysuli gives a little nod to Yishim and Firete, "But I know that you Bren, Shayla, and many who live outside of the 'Wilds worship the gods, and that these gods define what is good and what is bad. But you must understand that I am not of those gods, or those definitions. I am of nature, and nature is what it is; both truthful and deceitful in the same word, both giving and taking in the same moment. It was easy for me to lie because in lying I was telling the truth, and in telling the truth I lie. But I respect your ways, and I will avoid putting on such a show in front of you from now on."
"Fair enough Chey and I can't fault you for using what abilities you were given to try to help these people. I won't go on some high and mighty sermon about such things, after all in the end I hope we are accomplishing something good."

[sblock=OOC]Hopefully I explained that well enough for it to make sense in character. Brenwar is worried more about the people and the greater good rather than the kobold surviving. Shayla leaving would probably be the easiest way to deal with the creature but Brenwar will kill it if necessary.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Shayla is still around, making sure nobody sneaks up on you. It's up to you guys whether she'll stick around for storming the waterfall, if that's your next step.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]I am all for Shayla taking the kobold back to town, but we can't do that all the time we have a bound prisoner.[/sblock]

Tentatively, Firete touches the dagger on her belt. Brenwar, I see your point. I am beginning to see that there is only one solution to this.

[sblock=xp awards]You haven't gotten it yet.

XP Totals for Chey, Brenwar, and Miranna:

83*6 (time xp for six full months) + 100 (first fight) + 725*2/6 (second fight) + 575*2/6 (third fight) = 1032

XP Totals for Yishim and Firete:

575*2/6 = 192

So, the first group can start leveling up if they'd like. I wasn't really intending you to level up now, though. I just wanted to give you the xp so that you can create your second characters you lucky sons of... what? Did someone say something?

I think Lord Sess needs to sign off on this. I'm not entirely sure myself, since my character has never been awarded xp again with that noise.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]My vote's for dropping the party back to the five active players - probably easier from a battle resolution perspective as well, although it does mean Yishim will die in the second round :-) So if we've got a consensus on Shayla taking the kobold back to town, do one of the original party members want to do it in character?[/sblock]

Honestly I vote Twoheads just volunteer Shayla and then we proceed along with the adventure. We can always back-post our goodbyes...

Alright I won't worry about leveling Brenwar yet, but I will go make the sheet for a second character (well eventually)

Miranna thought about matters for a few moments- there were both moral and tactical considerations to be factored in, after all. When she spoke, her voice was even more ragged and raspy than usual.

"Shayla, maybe you ought to stay back with the prisoner. If we don't come back in an hour or two, take him and head back towards the city. Tell them what we learned, and turn the creature over to the Lord." Then she turned to the rest of the group. "So how do we want to handle this? I don't think we can just run in- we don't really even know where the entrance is... Do we want to try to draw them out, or does anyone have a clever plan?"

OOC: Just keeping things moving forward, mostly. Will wait to level up until after this fight, at least- if we survive.
