The Jade Frontier (DM: Ukingsken, Judge: Lord Sessadore)

[sblock=OOC]I am in favour of anything that will give us a surprise round. If it wasn't for the fact that they're behind a waterfall, I'd set something on fire. But that's my only useful ranged attack that will attract attention.
Hey, I wonder...what will happen if Yishim puts the freeze on the waterfall or river[/sblock]

Firete and Yishim contemplate tactics on entering the waterfall. Not that I'm a tactical genius, but our only chance for a surprise round is if the kobolds on the other side aren't expecting us. If they are, I'd guess almost nothing will help once we poke our heads through.

If they aren't however, we could try a few things. The spell I used to freeze the ground will likely not be powerful enough to stop a 20' wide waterfall, or even create a wider barrier for us to slip through.

My soundblast of thunder might be useful, either to push a volume of water into the caverns beyond, or once we're just inside to push creatures around. That, of course, puts me in the thick of action and hopes I can get a spell off quickly - and accurately. After my last miserable performance, I wouldn't bet on either...

Maybe we just head in?
Yishim dons his pack again and looks to the more experienced members of the party for guidance.

Cheysuli Sage

"I totally agree Yishim, if they are expecting us then we have no surprise so there is no need to over-plan a way to act on that surprise. I would suggest we try to enter the nest quietly just in case, assess the situation as best we can, then attack."
"Our main; I think, aim should be to take out this 'emissary', he or she is the one keeping these kobolds in line, without him or her, they may loose their will to fight. As for how we get in? I would not be surprised if there is an entrance to the side of the waterfall where that slinger was hollering."

I agree! Let's go. We should sneak in with us spellcasters in the rear, however.
[sblock=OOC Marching Order]Shall we say Miranna and Brenwar in front, Firete in the middle and Chey and I in the back?[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC/Marching Order]I'd rather be up front or middle tbh, that way i can dive off into the shadows straight off. Chey likes to dart in and out from the sidelines.[/sblock]

"That sounds fine by me, let us just go in as stealthily as possible though I doubt it will be of much use if I am involved. Never was very quite in all of this armor."

"Don't think sneaking is going to be a lot of use," Miranna rasped. "With Bricks gone, none of us are any good at it, and I bet those kobolds will have sharp-eyed watchers. I don't see any other choice but to just move in as best we can. When we get in there, try to focus our efforts on any spellcasters, or more of those slingers- physical violence we can handle, at least for a while, but anything that can put one of us out of the fight quickly needs to be dealt with. We're going to be outnumbered as it is..."

OOC: I don't have any better ideas, but I've got a bad feeling about this...

Yishim steps behind Miranna, Brenwar and Chey, and the team approaches the waterfall from near where the slinger was launching those annoying pots. The party is at the ready, but tense with the uncertainty of what might lie behind the waterfall.
One, Two, Three, Now! Yishim whispers, as they pass through the waterfall...
[sblock=OOC]I think it's going to great, what's the worst that can happen :-) Feel free to ignore or retcon actions if we are ambushed before we get to the waterfall itself. I just wanted to move it along[/sblock]
