Before I take level 2 ranger and roleplay, I take level 5 fighter, put two rapiers in both of my hands and use extra attack to attack with two weapons.

I could see a version of the fighter though where they get only medium armor and like the cleric, a choice between heavy armor and something else. Like adding int bonus to athletic checks.
