The Land of the Seven Realms: Opening Moves

OoC: My action will,of course, occur on my turn, after Taem's action resolves.

IC: Sparrow will again fire one arrow at the Merchant, not wanting to hit his friend due to shooting at a faster rate.

OOC: Just in case Gwyn gets her move in and it rolls around to Smiles all in one fell post...

Smiles moves into flanking position on the erstwhile merchant once again, tumbling if necessary, and attacks with his sap.

If he cannot get into flanking position with a 30' move, he charges and/or stops on top of the counter to attack from a higher position.

OOC:I am not giving you the bonus for higher ground. That would only apply if you were fighting from a table or something similar. (has visions of people hopping up in the air everytime they swing a sword. )

Taem leaps again to the attack, kicking the bodyguard with a flying kick, though the followup fails to connect.

Flurry Attack (roll 16 + 3 =19) Hits
Dmg (roll 6 + 2 = 8)
Flurry Attack (roll 3 + 3 = 6) Miss

Sparrow's bow sings again, and an arrow speeds from it, flying across the counter, and sinking deep into the merchant's eye. The merchant slides to the floor.

Arrow Attack: (roll 20 + 12 = 32) Threat
Threat Roll: (roll 10 + 12 = 22) Confirmed
Dmg 3d8+12 (roll 19 + 12 = 31)

Turik charges with a roar, blade swinging in his rage at the bodyguard, the blade connecting with a heavy "thunk." The bodyguard grunts, and folds around the blade, before sliding to the ground.

Sword Attack: (roll 19 + 11 = 30) Threat
Threat Roll: (roll 12 + 11 = 23) Confirmed
Dmg 2d10+8 (roll 18 + 8 = 26)

The man who Kintys scared with the fireball brings up the loaded crossbow in his hand, and shoots it at her, the bolt striking her painfully.

7 dmg piercing

At the other window, another crossbow sticks in, this one fired at Tragus, but glancing off the redoubtable dwarf's armor.

Kintys can see the man who flipped away from her fireball legging it for the brushline.

Gwyn, your action?

Gwyn sees that the noble, the man she was going to heal, has been stabilized by the berzerker warrior.

Gwyn still isn't sure who is truly on her side, but it's pretty clear that Kintys has been risking her life to save everyone.

She stands a moment, gestures and concentrates, and a pale blue light appears around her hand.

She runs to Kintys, the woman in the cloak that is now bleeding.
Let me help you!, Gwyn says.

She touches Kintys with a cure light wounds

Gwyn sets her tower shield facing the nearest window. When she runs to heal Kintys, she places herself in between the window and Kintys, then sets the shield as such.

Smiles' eyes widen upon seeing the merchant slain so quickly, and thinks Guess we won't be taking him alive. That Dwarf wasn't lying about his friend's skill with the bow.

Smiles runs over behind the counter to the downed Merchant, bends down out of sight from the window (let me know if this is not possible) and uses his Hat of Disguise to assume the Merchant's appearance (including a nasty gash to simulate a wound received by an arrow narrowly missing his eye).

OOC: Since his target is down I'm changing Smiles' move to the above. Tragus should see this happen at a minimum, not sure about who else has LOS or will happen to notice.

The window the second crossbowman is at has a direct line of sight to the downed merchant, it's quite likely the man saw the merchant's fate clearly.

Gwyn will not be able to get between Kintys and the window unless Kintys moves, since she is standing at the window, having just cast a spell through it.

Other replies forthcoming.

In that case Gwyn will set her tower shield facing the window, and whisper

Get cover behind me!!!

Indicating to Kintys that she should step behind her when she can.

OoC:Yeowza!
IC: Sparrow looks a bit sheepish, especially after he insisted that Tragus take the Mage alive. Oh well, such things happen in the heat of battle.
Quickly nocking anothe arrow, Sparrow moves to his friend and the downed Merchant, keeping his eyes open for more assailants

Gwyn runs to Kintys, managing to avoid fouling her siege shield on furniture, etc. She casts her spell on the injured wizard.

(OOC: assuming Kintys allows a touch. If Lazarus says otherswise, I'll do a touch attack roll)

Cure Light Wounds 1d4 + 9 (roll 2 + 9 = 11) 11 pts healed.

The farmers are content to defend their corner, though you all get the impression that approaching them right now might be a bit hazardous. One of the serving girls squeaks and dives behind one of them, a young man who gets a look of renewed resolve as he watches the fight, a long dagger in his hand.

The inkeeper remains right where he is, behind the counter, eyes wide at the sight of the dead merchant.

Those eyes get even wider as Smiles comes over the counter, and transforms into the very image of the dead man.

Tragus looks down at the dead merchant, then at Sparrow. "Here now, I thoght you said you wanted him alive?" Then he looks at Smiles, as the transformation takes place. Then, finally, he looks at the man in the window, who just bounced a crossbow bolt off his armor.

Grinning, he drops his hammer to the ground, and casts a Hold Person spell on the crossbowman.

The man stiffens suddenly, at the window, unable to move.

Kintys, your action?
