D&D 5E The Light of Civilization - A 5e Renaissance Story [OOC]

Well, the Grappling rules have it where the Grappler Feat allows you to Pin a creature (restraining you both) while also giving you advantage on attacks versus a creature you've grappled. I think this is pretty comparable to what you're looking to do, neh?

I would say that is more an Attack after already having an opponent grappled. Shoving someone after a grapple to hurt them would be more like fall damage than anything else. Perhaps on a high success on a Shove we could do a little bit of bludgeoning damage, but mostly doing physical damage like that is the purview of the Attack Action.

Just as you can describe precisely how you're stabbing that ruffian but the dagger is still 1d4 P, it's the same as just saying your Unarmed Attack is not punching someone, but throwing them into a wall or just straight up choke-slamming them.

As the Grappler Feat is rather lackluster in general (I know many complain about it), I would not be opposed to the idea of adding that the special "Pin" action can also do damage to make it more like an actual body slam or arm bar or something.

I agree. Action after successful grapple. I took athlete in hopes of 5ft step high jump body slam. My apologies if I'm complicating things. Would rather work this out before i try some crazyness in combat.

Back and looking forward to continuing this. Need to choose my feat or ASI. The only feat I can see taking is elemental adept. It's either that or take an ASI for my Wisdom or Strength. Leaning towards the ASI but not sure which to take. Any opinions on the matter?

Edit: Went with ASI (+2 Wis).

So Giovanni is in a box. By my understanding this would grant full cover to him. Would this assumption be correct? If so what would happen if I cast Shatter on the four thugs carrying the box? Would he take the damage or would the box protect him in some way? Also would the box be considered being carried for avoiding the damage from the spell?

So, to make it clear, unless otherwise stated, Nicolo's attacks are typically to disable rather than kill. So his default is nonlethal. He might kill, if he has to, but he'd rather not.

The assumption would be correct, though it is still only a box. However, yes, I'd judge that it is being "worn or carried" per the RAW of the spell for the purposes of avoiding the spell just ripping the box apart.

Thank you for noting! If anyone else is pulling their blows for Nonlethal attacks, please just note so in your actions when you attack.
