The Mandalorian & Grogu Trailer

At least they didn't spoil the plot (if there is one).
Yes, "It spoils the plot!" is one of the main sins of modern trailers and it definitely does not do that!

Colour me intrigued by what looks like it could be a Hutt gladiator though. Would be cool to see an entry that showed us, "You guys are lucky most Hutts are lazy bums."

I thought the trailer was fine. It's pretty typical for the first trailer to be nothing more than a collage of actions shots sprinkled with comedy - just look at all the initial trailers for the Marvel movies.

This terrifying fellow is from Legends continuity, but even without the Force a Hutt could reach his physical level if they put in the effort.

And if you watch Return of the Jedi Jabba's actually quite strong. He's capable of overpowering fully-grown humanoids one-handed without leverage.

Yup. And Andor has completely muddied the waters by being the best Star Wars since the original trilogy by completely rejecting its pulp space opera. Can the franchise go back to that now?
While Andor was great and a huge success, I think it only reached a fraction of the audience a major Star Wars theatre release could have, so for the majority of people SW is still just somebody with a blue laser sword fighting somebody with a red laser sword, with a bunch of spaceships and weird aliens thrown in for good measure.

I expect that even something like the Mandalorian and Grogu will draw in lots of people that have never watched the show.

It will have reached the critics though, and colour their response.

And these days people are only inclined to go out for "event cinema". If it's just more explosions and laser swords without much buzz they will just wait a couple of months for it to be on Disney+.

Nah, the days when people would go to a movie because it's Saturday night and it has a Star Wars label are past. People will watch it on D+, and they will have watched the TV show first.
