The Monk -- a Martial Controller

Monks seem like a good fit for the martial power source (who seem to be the stance-using ones). That works, until we see how the ki power source. See, while it does not explicitly say so, the 3 power sources so far have comnon traits.

Strangely, I'm also working on a monk as a martial controller. It seems that a lot of people have been coming up with the idea over the various boards recently, though, so I might not go on with it.

Instead, I'll try to influence the current builds.

Here's my first one: I don't care if the monk is not supposed to be frail, controllers should have 10+con starting hp, and 4 hp per level.

I disagree beej. While I feel this class has to much HP and surges, I believe that a controller could have either the HP or the surges, only one of them, boosted to striker level if the control is slightly weaker than the wizards. Which it will be in most example martial controllers, since it's hard to justify a martial wall, zone, or wide range status attack.
