It could be a lot worse. They have done nothing as bad as screw up a major character's parents...KenM said:Also, anyone that knows Star Trek knows that Spock's parents are already different, fully fleshed out characters. Sarek, and I forgot his mother name.
But given how screwed the continuty is with Trek, it would not surpise me if they do end up doing what you sugest.

Shows what you know, you so-called "nerd."Ferret said:Any one who knowsstar trek (or has watched The Office) know that spock is a half-vulcun. Now factor in that the captain of the new series is human and T'paul is vulcun. They like each other.
Work out the rest.
And one more thing, if T'Pol do accept the commission from Starfleet (she teased about it in the last season's finale episode), it would partially defeat the continuity that Spock was the first Vulcan to enter into Starfleet.

They meant Spock was the first Vulcan in The Federation's Starfleet! And, um, right now, the Federation doesn't exist, and they're talking about Earth's Starfleet! Yeah, that's it! No continuity issue here! None at all! Nope! None!
