"Age is not a particularly interesting subject. Anyone can get old. All you have to do is live long enough."
Groucho was right. And the older I get, the more true it is. IMHO of course.

I'm not going to read 4 pages to see if this has been discussed but I know no one between the ages of 0-4 who knows how to read well enough to answer a poll let alone play DnD. 5-8 is pushing it.

Indeed.
And: it has been.

I'm 30, which seems to place me almost exactly in the demographic center here. Funny, back when I started playing in the 80s I always felt like most other players were a lot older than me. But then, the 6 years' difference between 30 and 36 seems pretty trivial, whereas the 6 years' difference between 10 and 16 or 12 and 18 are a lot more significant...

Related story: found out today that one of the girls in my office went to the same college as me (which is unusual because it was a liberal arts school with only ~1200 students). However, I was in the class of 1997 and she was in the class of 2004, which caused her to cheerfully announce "hey, when you graduated I was a freshman in high school!" No, that didn't make me feel old...

0-4 is the Idiot's Test.

And someone flunked it. :]

It is conceivable that someone is in the range 5-8. Very, very unlikely, but conceivable.

Possibly, I know people have played (albeit rather simple and toned down versions) of D&D with their kids or young relatives, but I really wouldn't expect any of those kids to post here on a regular basis.

What about, next time someone makes such a thread, the answers are by birthday dates? That way, it won't be outdated two years later... It could even be stickified in Off-Topic...

Myself, I'm 7d6 years old.
