The New Policy In The Subway

How about water? Is your subway air conditioned? In London it gets incredibly hot, if people couldn't drink water there's a serious health risk.

It's not a BAD policy, and I'm sure medical conditions will (logically) be exempted somehow. It is, however, totally harsh.

Excuse me, but how can you say it's a bad policy?! I take medicine myself and I definately believe that rule is illogical. And don't take it personally but half the people in New York are very disgusted with the law! I'm mean hypocritcally how would the children and babies and everybody else would feel about this new law? I'm sorry if I sound vulgar but it's just idiotic!

Did anybody saw the news. The mayor in New York City (Which I lived here in Manhattan) said that starting in October If anybody caught drinking regardless if it's beer, water, milk and other drinks you'll get a fine! That unethical!
I grew up in a city with that policy. No eating either. Last year I moved to a city that doesn't have that policy and I do notice more spilled drinks on seats and the floor as a result. You may not love the policy but it will cut janitorial costs and raise revenues for very little inconvenience. The only people who will be really hurt are the convenience stores in and near the subway.

I'm confused as to how this rule is unethical. Is there some kind of implied right that you can eat or drink wherever you wish? There are many places where you are not permitted to eat or drink.

How long do you spend on the subway in any one stretch of time? I suppose if you live on the subway and by enacting this rule you are denied the ability to eat and drink, then it might be unethical, but I don't think very many people live on the subways.

There are rules about urinating on the subway, I'm sure. Are those unethical? What about to people with bladder control problems? Damn them for making those people get off the train and use a bathroom!

You need something to eat or drink, get off the train. In the meantime, the trains may end up being a little cleaner and the cost of maintaining them might go down. I really don't understand the outrage.

Boycott. Don't ride the subway. Drive your car and get all your friends to drive their own car. Drink all you want of what you want.

I don't know if it's unethical. Mind you, Hawaii does not have a rail transit system so I wouldn't know but our bus transit system does prohibit drinking while bus is in operation. I can understand that especially having been spilled by a passenger violating that code when the bus I'm on made a sudden stop. Of course, I don't understand why they don't make buses with non-slip floor.
