i used to love my chits too. but then i found out from Gary the truth behind them.

in the boxed sets with chits there was an address you could order TSR dice.

the order info for dice came with every set as far as i know. but for the chit sets it was important.

(I can't remember whether the d20 that came with LA Essentials was numbered to 20 or not.)

Mine was.

I still have (and use) a couple of d20s that are 0-9 twice (one set of numbers black and one set of numbers red). They aren't the lose-the-corners TSR dice, though; I don't know who made them.

Also acquired with the 20-sided d10s were two 6-sided d3s & one of those 12-siders with zodiac symbols. The d3s I've been enjoying a lot as well. (Especially since I have three players for attacking monsters to choose among.)

The zodiac die hasn't gotten any use yet. One suggestion I liked was to use it for quick-&-dirty NPC personalities. But I'll have to find some brief descriptions for each sign to use as a reference.
