Amirad removes the axe from the erstwhile student of the old School. His fingers trace the symbol of Solinar's light above his forehead,"May the grace of Solinar guide your soul to its proper rest."

Amirad gazes carefully around the room his divine senses alert for further peril. [sblock] detect evil. IVV my impression was that this "chamber" was a dead end, is that correct? [/sblock]

His gaze settles on Austin, "Well cousin, what have you uncovered?"

[sblock=Thondor]
No evil is detected. And yes, this chamber is a dead end.
[/sblock]

The scroll case itself is carved from a single ivory tusk, and appears to be valuable in its own right.

Austin checks it over to see if he can find any sigals of warding or any other protection, or if it might have a wax seal witha signant, first of all.

"You know, this croll tube unto it self is quite valuable, which may lend to the value of its contents." It is apperent he is checking the scroll tube over very carefully.

Lidia keeps watch while the others start to search the, finally dead, body and subsequently the scroll case. She continually checks to make sure that nothing is approaching down the corridor, the rats and the human bodies are not moving and the ceiling is not falling.

"That's true Srg. Stubbs. I hope he was alone, and we do not find any others like him."

Amirad casts one last gaze around the chamber, "Well I say that we get out of this hole and return to the entrance chamber, then take the left hand passage."

He looks down at the body, "Isn't right to just leave the man here. Anyone want to help me carry him?"

"Give ma a few more seconds to finish examining this scroll tube before I open it and I would be honored to assist you ingetting this man properly interred."

Austin opens the scroll tube and looks it over. It has a series of magical diagrams that he cannot read; clearly it encodes spells fit for a magic-user, and will require a Read Magic spell to decipher.

The party pulls itself back through the burrow, into the mine proper. They note the cage suspended above the shaft, and the "2" that Lidia marked earlier.

Everyone heads towards the entrance, past the earlier intersection and back into the room with the bones near the entrance. The passage not yet explored, heading to the northeast, bears the tracks as the rest of the mine.
