Is it true you bats can see in the dark?" The human grins in an odd gesture - perhaps it means to be friendly? but it seems oddly threatening instead. You notice it is armed with a large combat knife in its belt.

As he talks, the doors open, and Lt. Cmdr Dane enters the room.

Dra'Ken simply shrugs. This one smells of trouble; I'll have to watch my back, and I have no sense of alerting him to my capabilities.
