The (prestige) class that HASN'T been crafted yet ...

Haven't read every book or every PRC out there, so may be dup.

Gossip Master: They are the phones of the world. They talk to anyone and everyone at every chance- willing listener or not. For a few gold coins you too can talk to anyone. They reserve the right and privilege to listen to everything you say, and pass it on to anyone who wants or doesn't want to hear. They don't care.

Intelligent Object: you can move however your form allows, hold anything your form may allow, you have a soul, HD, saves, and you talk! But your an object. Sword, ring, candlestick, clock, rock. B&B/disney I know!

Also, I love the thought of the musical game/session :)

One that I think would be interesting that I haven't seen would be a Master of Hounds, who has a pack of dogs that are special companions (like a bonded mount or animal companion)...

Another one that might be interesting would be the Aquanaut- the prestige class for surface dwellers who like to do lots of underwater adventuring.

Has anyone actually put together a true "Jack of All Trades" class concept? Not just a rogue or bard, but something that ... well, it looks a lot like a single level from each character class.

I have one, and I posted it a looong time ago, but a search has revealed to me that it's gone... prolly went away during one of the Great Crashes.

Crazy Old Cat Lady
Every little hamlet has one. Knows virtually every single bit of gossip. And that bit that you need to know about how to kill the ancient wizard of hullaballo. Likes cats. A lot.

I'd like this thread to avoid specific rules and/or elaborate game mechanic disections (which would thrust it into the House Rules sub-board), and instead discuss character concepts and generalities here.

[scratches head] Do people actually discuss character concepts anymore?

Ooh! I like this one muchly!
Themetically connects the rogue/bard Gather Info skills with a pseudo-druidlike animal focus. Nice.

There's a Hound Master druidic PrC in FFG's Path of Faith.

I'm still waiting for:
- a draconic-themed Sorcerer PrC - I know, incredibly obvious concept, but that doesn't change the fact that it hasn't been done yet.
- thunderer - A warrior-type PrC that specializes in Javelins or Spears the builds on that archetypal Zeus/Thor image of hurling thunderbolts.
- master of invisibility - Rogue/mage PrC that specializes in stealth, both magical and nonmagical
- Olympic athlete - I use "Olympic" only as a short-form for getting across the scope of athlete I'm talking about here. A warrior-type PrC that specializes not in combat ability, but pure physical/athletic prowess: performing feats of strength, endurance, speed, and so on.
- sea mage - Something for pirates and sailors who are primarily arcane spellcasters.

I'd also like to see some kind of shapeshifter core class, like the Shifter from Masters of the Wild but over 20 levels and without any druidic or spellcasting influences.

And along a similar vein:

A non-spellcasting, non-fighting academic. BAB, Saves and Hit Dice like a Wizard, but with no spell-casting, 8 + INT skill points (or more?), all Knowledge skills as class skills (along with the social skills like Diplomacy) and class features like "Academic Standing," "Stipend" and "Research Contacts". Could have a "bardic knowledge" ability similar to that of the Loremaster.

We included a new base class, the master, in the Dragonlance "War of the Lance" sourcebook from Sovereign Press. You choose a primary focus (Craft, Knowledge, Perform or Profession) and pick up knacks, bonus feats, a lot of skills, etc. It's ideal for those characters like Theros Ironfeld (the silver-armed smith from the Dragonlance novels) or academics, non-spellcasting bards, innkeepers etc. A PC expert class, in many ways.

Cheers,
Cam
