Disintegrate doesn't work on the tarrasque anyway, because its reflective carapace makes ray spells useless.

Strange. Another thing changed by d20. In OAD&D the only way to kill a tarrasque for certain was with a disintegrate spell IIRC.

It already was that way in 1e and 2e, at least.
