The Stuff of Dreams (Orsal Judging)

No, no, this way...

"We gotta head back the other way. I forgot Devlin said she was at the Coronet."
Upon arriving at a modest but well-kept building with a tipped wooden crown out front, Enialis and Ryland were met by an innkeeper who offered food, drink, or a room. The Coronet was not quite up to the standards of the Tower, but was still a cut above the rough-and-ready feel of the Red Dragon Inn. Not that any luxury one's heart desired couldn't be gotten at the Red Dragon, but rather that at the Coronet and especially the Tower, some degree of luxury seemed to be expected, rather than hoped for.

The innkeeper wiped his hands on a towel that he carried, cultivating an air of fastidiousness that he apparently hoped would attract a well-paying clientele. He awaited their answer.[/sblock]

We would like dinner. We've heard that the Coronet is famous for it's beautiful patrons, especially blonds. Is there any chance we might have the luck of gazing on any such beauties as we dine? Ryland says with a twinkle is in eye, attempting to disarm the innkeeper with a roghish demeaner. My friend and I have been long aboard ship, and its been some time since we saw a bonnie young lass.

This isn't that kind of place!

The innkeeper was, at least momentarily, at a loss for words. When he finally spoke, his voice was rapid and a little strained. "Well, for dinner tonight", he began, "we have a fine roast chicken, and as a special delight, a cup of lobster bisque. But as for the other, you realize, the Coronet is a reputable establishment, and guests are expected to behave with proper decorum!" He displayed a mild case of the nerves as he admonished the "sailors".[sblock= Humor ]At least you didn't approach him with a gravelly voice demanding "Rum, Platter, and an Angel to warm my Bed!" [/sblock] [/sblock]

The tale of Mr. Personality

"Wine, please. So, what's the story on Mr. Grumpy over there?"
"That'll be 2 Crowns, please", the waitress replied in a cheery voice. Dropping her tone, she explained, "He came in with a group a couple of days ago. He was like that then, but at least he stayed in his room. He's been down here most of the day today, and I swear, if he keeps it up, he's gonna get tossed out. Just a weird little guy, if you ask me."

2 Crowns seemed like a lot for a drink that wasn't stronger than sherry, but she brought out a glass of surprisingly tasty red. It was a subtle blend of flavors, much better than what Devlin usually drank.[/sblock]

"Good sir, I don't mean to give you the wrong impression. I was only hoping that we would have a beautiful veiw as we dined. I meant no disrespect. Of course, perhaps you don't wish to make judgement about the appearance of your guests. Certainly, my companion and I will behave with the highest level of decorum.", the gnome says with his most polite manner.[/sblock]

Table for Two

An awkward silence followed. The innkeeper wondered if he was subject to some sort of magic. Deciding that some sort of difference in customs was at play, he snapped to and announced, "Right. A table for two it is, then", and led the pair to their seats.[sblock=Commentary]I picture this guy with a daisy, and as he picks off the petals, he says, "He's a drunken sailor" "He's not a drunken sailor" "He's a drunken sailor"... :D [/sblock][/sblock]

Sensing his attempt to see if Brigit is still at the inn has failed miserably Ryland quietly goes to the table. After sitting down and scanning the room for the blonde, he whispers to Enialis, " Sorry, we all can't be as slick as our freind Mr. McGruder". After a second or two he continues, "Maybe we should set up a watch after our dinner."

Ryland looks around to see if there are other exits besides the front door.

Mmm, mmm, good!

As the two adventurers settled down to a delicious meal, Ryland examined his surroundings. Aside from being of a slightly higher standard than most such places, the Coronet was laid out in a familiar style: A table by the front door where newcomers could be greeted, tables and benches in the common room, an opening to the kitchen and cellars in the rear, and stairs leading up, presumably, to sleeping rooms and the innkeeper's quarters. There were several other diners in the common room, travellers mostly, and the occasional visitor to the front table from the street. Ryland heard one of them ask to see a "Pwyll Garinthian", and saw the man escorted up the stairs to meet his associate.

The food was quite good, a bargain really, at 5 Shields apiece.[/sblock]

Ryland is a little frustrated. His attemopts to see if Brigit is still there were thwarted. I'm not sure what to do other than wait outside for her to leave..
OOC:What time is it in the game. It would be nice to refresh my spells.
