The Stuff of Dreams (Orsal Judging)

Enialis took a seat at a table away from both the bar and the table in the corner with the glowering baby-faced man. It was clear that the man was as keenly interested in Ryland and Enialis as he was in Devlin, but he made no move to leave his seat.

"Is he bothering ye? I warned him earlier that if he kept troubling the other travellers, that he'd either have to go to his room or leave."
Devlin smiles at the innkeep. "No, he's no bother. He does look familiar, though, like we've met before. I can almost see the name, Willard, William, something like that."
El Jefe said:
Sure enough, there was no trace of the exotic poison in the common room of an upper-class inn.
ooc: I wasn't looking for the actual poison, just some substance that might resemble it to assist in a bluff. :)[/sblock]
Ryland said:
Care to buy an old gnome a drink? We have some things to discuss if you want to head back to the room after an ale.
Devlin nods in greeting to Ryland. "It's been rather, interesting, here as well. Where's Enialis?"

The innkeeper looked at Devlin quizzically. "Why, ye be right", he responded, "'tis something like that. I'm surprised ye'd associate with someone like that." The innkeeper returned to cleaning up around the bar area.

"Where's Enialis?"
Ryland gestured, and Devlin followed his indication to Enialis along the wall, keeping an eye on the man who looked due for a heart attack decades before his time. Their eyes met for just an instant, acknowledging each other's presence.

The baby-faced man may have noticed this. Then again, he may have been too preoccupied in deciding whether he'd rather pound Devlin or Ryland to care.

'Looks like our friend over there is going to choke on his own spite", the gnome says, purposely avoiding looking at the angry young man. "Enialis can keep an eye on him. Let's discuss what we know and where we're going in our room. I'd like to put some hypnotism on that little whelp and see what he knows, but I'm out of magic."

OOC: read through each other's posts?

"Yes, let's head upstairs." Devlin stands and heads out of the common room, giving the little man one last wink.

Once back in his room, Devlin fills Ryland in on what he's discovered. "Jobe's staying at this inn. And our little friend in the common room is Wilbur, the one we think killed Flodal Thursby. According to one of the waitresses, he and Jobe checked in together along with a half-orc I'm assuming is Kamdar. Quite a coincidence, don't you think? So, what did you find out?"

"Well, I talked to Brigit. She described the orb to me, and seemed worried that Brimbor would get possession of it. She wouldn't tell me who else might be looking for it.That leaves someone besides Kamdar and Wilbur that we would have to worry about. Maybe we should snatch our surly young friend up and see if he'll tell us anything. Does he carry a crossbow?."

OOC: Dungannon: You'll probably want to read through and see what else you think we should try. If ryland can rest until morning that would be best, otherwise he might not be a lot of help. Maybe a gather info check from Devlin to find out where Kamdar is.

Devlin listens to Ryland's tale. "I think I'm starting to figure out what's happening. Yes, I believe a little 'chat' with Wilbur would be most enlightening. And no, I haven't seen him in possession of any weapons, but that's not surprising since I haven't seen him outside the common room. Now we just have to figure out how to get the little bugger alone outside the common room."

"Well... If I wanted to get Wilbur out of the common room and say into a nice dark alley, I would hire a lady of the night to show interest in him and guide him back there. Once we get him back there we could try to subdue him. Wish I had a little magic left though. What do you think is going on. I can't figure out who the other player is, unless there isn't any and Kamdar has left his companions and absconded with the orb.", the gnome says as he paces a short line back and forth in the room, becoming highly animated with the thought of putting Wilbur in his place.

OOC: Just waiting on Dungannon to reply. El Jefe: got a new mission for Avatar in Living Supers. Do you mind dropping into the Ready Lounge if you're interested? It should start next week and has some interest built in for Avatar.
