The Stuff of Dreams (Orsal Judging)

Dungannon said:
"And this associate of yours, Kamdar, why would you assume he is the one who killed Flodal Thursby?"
Brimbor shook his head. "No, no, he wouldn't do that, that's why he has Wilbur." The elf's eyes were clearly focused on the weapon just inches from his groin.

Ryland looks over to the elf, " Should've just answered the questions when we were asking nicely. My freind is not known for his restraint". Good Boy, Devlin. I don't mind seeing this guy squirm.

Dungannon said:
"Why would Kamdar send Wilber to kill Flodal?"
It was evident from the play of features on his face that Jobe wanted nothing more than to escape this predicament. "Because Flodal wouldn't deal with him. Flodal doublecrossed him...he knew where it was, but he wouldn't talk. He wouldn't deal with Kamdar, no one was foolish enought to try to force it out of him...so Wilbur must have killed him." The impression that the elf left was that half of what he said he knew to be fact, and half of it was what he had puzzled out but not actually witnessed.

OoC: I'll be out of town until Sunday or Monday, and may not have access until then. Have a nice break!

Devlin nods knowingly at Jobe's response. "One last question, Jobe, you've been very cooperative so far. How does Brigit O'Shally figure into all this? You know who she is, Jobe, so don't deny it."

Devlin's words seemed to give the little elf some hope that he would be released. "Oh, no sir, I wouldn't. Uh, she was another business associate...former business associate. She probably wants the orb, too, if she doesn't already have it. Do you know where she is?"

Devlin grins and moves the crossbow ever so slightly, so it's no longer a direct threat to the elf's manhood. "See how easy it is when everyone cooperates, Jobe? Now let me see if I understand. You came here looking for this orb. You believe that Kamdar and Brigit are also looking for the orb on their own. Kamdar had his boy Wilbur kill Flodal. That sounds about right so far, correct? Okay. Now you came here looking for Furlong, and we know Flodal was looking for Furlong, and found him. Why do you, and apparently the others, believe Furlong has this orb or knows where it is?"

The elf grinned fearfully and nodded his head in appreciation.

Brimbor shook his head. "No, no, you misunderstand. I know from the posters that Mr. Archer is dead, no? And they say that the two deaths are connected. I know not what the City Watch knows, but the only reason I can think of that Flodal would kill Mr. Archer would be something to do with the, ah, ornament." His features brightening, he continued, "So I came here and spoke with your girl. Now you know everything. So, may I go now, Mr. Devlin?"

Devlin points the crossbow at the floor and starts pacing back and forth. "I believe you've been very forthcoming with us, Jobe, and I appreciate that. Give me a moment to confir with my associates and then you can be on your way." Devlin steps outside the office and motions for Ryland and Enialis to join him. Once everyone is out of the office, except for the bound Jobe, he closes the door.

"Talkative little guy, isn't he? I think he's being truthful, at least as truthful as he can be. Still, I don't fully trust him. What do you guys think?"
