The Stuff of Dreams (Orsal Judging)

Devlin points the crossbow at the floor and starts pacing back and forth. "I believe you've been very forthcoming with us, Jobe, and I appreciate that. Give me a moment to confir with my associates and then you can be on your way." Devlin steps outside the office and motions for Ryland and Enialis to join him. Once everyone is out of the office, except for the bound Jobe, he closes the door.

"Talkative little guy, isn't he? I think he's being truthful, at least as truthful as he can be. Still, I don't fully trust him. What do you guys think?"
Ryland casts message

"I dont trust a word out of the sneaky little bastards mouth. If we let him go there is a good chance he'll try to take us out once we let him go. He might be worth following though. Your girl Brigit is knee deep in this how much do you think we can trust her. I know you're a pro Devlin, but don't let a pretty face cloud your judgement. What do you think, Enialis?",the little gnome says,a hard glint in his eye.

Message
Transmutation [Language-Dependent]
Level: Brd 0, Sor/Wiz 0
Components: V, S, F
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Targets: One creature/level
Duration: 10 min./level
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No
You can whisper messages and receive whispered replies with little chance of being overheard. You point your finger at each creature you want to receive the message. When you whisper, the whispered message is audible to all targeted creatures within range. Magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal (or a thin sheet of lead), or 3 feet of wood or dirt blocks the spell. The message does not have to travel in a straight line. It can circumvent a barrier if there is an open path between you and the subject, and the path's entire length lies within the spell's range. The creatures that receive the message can whisper a reply that you hear. The spell transmits sound, not meaning. It doesn't transcend language barriers.
Note: To speak a message, you must mouth the words and whisper, possibly allowing observers the opportunity to read your lips.
Focus: A short piece of copper wire.

Devlin nods at Ryland's observation. "Don't get me wrong, Ryland. I think there's more to learn from him. I suggest we let him go, then follow him to see where he goes."

"I totally agree with you. l don't think we need all three of us to tail him. Maybe Enialis and I should try to follow Brigit while you follow this guy. No need to have a crowd. There's also the loose end of the wife. Do you think she's involved? What do you think, Enialis?"

ooc: Sorry constantly been losing power and as a result my router gets screwed up and unusable.

I agree thats a wise plan. However from what I understand this orb of his master's is actually in the office. Or at least he thinks it is.

Which is why I'd like to suggest another possible lead to look into.

Eppy

If this orb is so incredibly important that a man would come in here offer us a job to get it back. Its obvious it means something to someone.

I don't have any proof to back up these thoughts aside from the fact he didn't attack us until Eppy left.

But regardless. I think following him would be wise. But we also should be aware of the possibility that the person who wanted Archer dead has been with us this whole time.

"I don't share your thoughts about Eppy, but I'm not about to rule out anyone as a possible suspect, except for the three of us. Okay, we'll let Jobe go and I'll follow him. You two can then follow up on Brigit & Mrs. Archer. Sound like a plan?"

" I agree completely. Let's go.",

OOC: Happy to tag along with Enialis when I'm out of contact. :D Things are heating up.

Ryland and Enialis reopened the door to the inner office to find Brimbor struggling with his bonds. At the rate he was going, he was sure to free himself...in a day or so. He glanced at his captors with a sheepish grin that said "Please don't hurt me for trying to escape" at the same time it said "Would you please let me out of this?"

The elf cleared his throat. "Ah, gentlemen", he began, his tone much more respectful than it had been before Devlin's threat. "Do you have any need for me here? I would be most grateful if I could be on my way..."

ooc: Devlin will leave the building before Ryland and Enialis return to the office to release Jobe. He's keeping the crossbow, too.

Devlin bids adieu to his companions and hurries out of the building and across the street, where he can wait for Jobe to leave and follow him.

ooc: Hide check = 13. Hide is not one of my better skills., hopefully this wil be good enough to avoid detection from a preoccupied amateur. :)

The elf looked expectantly at Enialis and Ryland as Devlin clambered down the stairs and out of the building.
