The Stuff of Dreams (Orsal Judging)

Brigit looks disdainfully at the ball of lead which only moments before seemed to hold so much value. She takes one of the sacks of platinum and puts it in her bag. She looks at Ryland and shakes her head, she glances at Devlin, a sad, longing look in her eyes, and then departs. Our heroes let Brigit leave the room unmolested.

Devlin suggests they find out what happened to Vagan. Ryland nods his assent, and both adventurers head out of their room, thinking to head downstairs.

OOC: Let me know what you do with the poisoned weapons, the poisoned food/drink, and the empty bottles of poison.

Not two steps out of the door, they see Brigit hustling quietly back up the stairs, a horrified look on her face. Faintly from downstairs, voices can be heard, "Kamdar Fatwon, Jobe Brimbor, you're under arrest for conspiracy, burglary, the first degree murders of Flodal Thursby and Henri Jacobin... and the gods only know what else." "This is preposterous! Ludicrous! I've done nothing, nothing at all! ... It's the elf, take the elf, not me!" "What?! You traitorous tub of lard!" Grunts of exertion and sounds of a restrained scuffle echo dully off the wood walls.

Brigit looks up from her dash and sees Devlin and Ryland. She throws herself at Devlin, sobbing, "Oh Mr. Magruder, you must help me, I can't go to prison!"

OoC: You know, I waited almost a year and a half to make that post, and you beat me to it.

I have to admit, though, you handled it quite perfectly.

Devlin will gather all evidence of the poison (food, drink, bolts & bottles) in the sack the orb was kept in and find a trash can somewhere outside the room to dump it in. If need be, he will try to find a back way downstairs and dump it in the alley.

OOC: There is only one staircase, but the window opens up into the alley. The next building over is a tall one story, so there's a nice view and surprising privacy. There is no waste receptacle of any kind (the smell would surely disturb patrons of the fine inn), but the alley, like many alleys, is dirty and has random items, bricks, burlap scraps, and a few closed old wooden boxes. Devlin's bag of "goodies" should blend right in, at least until it can be retrieved and disposed of properly. Are the plates, glasses, and utensils going in with the food? And the orb? Are you dumping that with the poison, taking it with you, or what? (For reference, the encounter with Brigit outside the room occurs only about three minutes after Kamdar and Jobe left, and two minutes after Brigit leaves.)

To El Jefe: I'm just emulating a master, El Jefe. ;) Are you only stopping by, or would you like the reigns back?

ooc: Yeah, the orb can stay in the room even. I don't see any reason to dump it right now.
OOC: Cool if we get out of this without going to prison, I thought we could put it in the RDI as a decoration.
